Drakenea: That's cool, I could never figure out how people play those things - guess it takes actual talent! Oh well...how often have you been playing for? Almost 4 years.I practice about 15-30 minutes a day.

That's excellent, you must be great I used to get piano lessons, but my main problem was with practise....by which I mean, I never did any. Not a good way to develop a friendship with one's piano teacher, I might add! Well done, that's really cool What kind of music do you like to play and/or listen to?

Wow, that's quite a curious little story hernamewascandy...mysterious eh? Maybe a leprechaun took it!? And that's great Drakenea, I didn't think being Irish or part-Irish was cool - don't we have a reputation as a nation of rowdy drunks? Obviously we're not by the way (just to clear that up!) That's stereotypes for you I guess. I think it's a great place to live really, do you know what part of Ireland your relations were from? thursday is my concert for orch dork camp wish me luck Best of luck with that! Let us know how it goes

yeah a leprechaun hired as a hotel maid heheheh being irish is cool because you have a holiday that's cool (cause it's GREEN my fav color) or the fact that you're closer to cooler places like...france and england than the US is and i will let you know about it...we're playing the chicken dance(gag me) annie's tomorrow (shoot me then gag me) seasons of love from rent (yay!) and a song called farandole we had to sing in french II this year heehheheh i loved my french class

Hehe, green is a pretty cool color alright! Glad to know people like us. By the way, I've never been to France, and I was only in England for a few hours changing planes once - so I guess that doesn't count! Wow, must see more of Europe really...been to Spain, Portugal, and Norway though.
Sounds like you have an interesting selection of pieces to play. We used to only play classical stuff in the orchestra - never songs like you mentioned, that's pretty cool. It that farandole from Bizet's Carmen? It gets faster towards the end, and there's plenty of percussion? (That's how I remember it! Loads of fun.....)

Ooo, more They Might Be Giants fans in here. Sweet. I play bass clarinet for my school, which is neat. But my secret passion is accordion. I think I picked it up because I desperetely wanted to learn to play some of the songs from 'Flood'.

Haha, wow....I've certainly found a new admiration for the instrument since listening to them alright! Flood rules Bass clarinet, that's cool - we had one guy playing it in our orchestra, but he was.....let's just say he had an unpleasant personality It sounds really good though - wind instruments playing so low, it's mad! How long have you been playing both of them?

I've been playing clarinet since I was 7, but switched to bass when I hit 12. I've only been playing the accordion for about a year. It's tough, but the payoff's great.

my concert went pretty well, although we were squished and had to listen to a billion kids play long boring songs consisting 3 notes.... my teacher however said i am a fantastic cellist and I have a real ear for music

I was wondering how you got on - that's brilliant! I understand what you mean about the kids' songs, but that would only serve to highlight how good everyone else is! What TMBG songs can you play Emma? One of the songs I've finished working on recently for the band has an accordian-type part that I play on the keyboard - it's a funny song, like a pirate jig or something! Can't wait to record it properly with the band
