Bloo-so Mac created him when he was three right. What entertains me about Bloo is that he has a lot of expression for a little blue blob.

Bloo is the cutest thing I have ever seen. Like Madame Foster, I just wanna squeeeeeze him!! I love how it's obvious (well...it is to me!) that when Mac made Bloo, he projected a lot of Terrence's personality onto Bloo, probably as a subconcious wish that Terrence himself would be his best friend. (There's plenty of proof in House of Bloos.) And, although many people say otherwise, I believe that there's a lot of Mac himself in Bloo, including the more negative personality traits - notably his selfishness, which I guess is a topic for a Mac discussion. (No, I love Mac, I just don't think he's as "great" as many people make him out to be. I write Terrence fanfic, I can't help looking at Mac in a more critical light, lol.) Anyways, as bratty as Bloo is, and as, well, kinda evil he can be, I still love him to ittybitty pieces. He is just the cutest thing. Ever.

Bloo IS cute, and what's remarkable is that his design is so SIMPLE! It had to take an act of sheer genius to come up with something that is so highly effective as a character, yet is little more than a "Pac Man ghost" in terms of shape. Personality-wise, Bloo could definately use some improvements, and yeah, I can see a lot of both Terrence and Man in him, but a lot of just plain ole Bloo, as well. He reminds me a lot of Mike Wazowski in "Monsters, Inc."-sarcastic, egotistical, competitive, loud-mouthed, self-absorbed, narcisistic-but Bloo has waaay more courage than Mike does, and has no need to depend on a really big pal to feel secure. At times I just want to knock some sense into him, and then again, like you, Sparky, I wanna pick him up and squeeze him! Not many characters can make me want to do both; I usually either love 'em or hate 'em, or could care less about 'em one way or the other.

I love Bloo. He basically sold the show to me when I first watched the episode Adoptcalypse Now. "It's a Christmas miracle!" killed me! He stands out a bit because, although he's a major protagonist and has a simple and cute design, he's horriably flawed. It's not unheard of to have protagonist be so self-centred (I'm having flashbacks to high school English and The Stone Angel), but it's a touch unusal to see these traits in a recent cartoon with a young demographic, since kids these days are so impressionable and "soccer moms" are known to complain in packs. Frankly, I'd say Bloo's a jerk, but a jerk you can feel some sympathy for. When he gets in a nasty situation that's way over his head, it's almost hard, for myself at least, to see someone so sure of himself be rendered powerless. It's a kick in the teeth that Bloo needs to keep himself in check, but it's got to be tough to deal with both extremes. So, he's partly "evil" but still plenty loveable. But then, I have a major soft spot for jerky, but likeable characters.

Bloo is my absolute favorite character in this series, and when I first started seeing ads about it, I just knew I was going to like this partciular imaginary friend the most.
Sure, he can be a real jerk: self-centered, egotistical, and selfish, but most of the time I just want to pick him up and squeeze him (especially when he was dressed as a nerd in "Bye Bye Nerdy"^_^).
I can sometimes see Mac's personality reflected in Bloo, especially in "Partying is Such Sweet Soiree", which it seemed that Mac and Bloo completely flipped personalities.

A character, as simplistic-looking as can be (heck, virtually anyone could draw him on paper), Blooregard is such a fun character to watch. McCracken really used his head to create such a wonderful character (as well as other characters). He has the characteristics of his creator, Mac, and some from Mac's brother, Terrence. He's not very smart, for one thing, though his intelligence isn't at the same level as Mac's brother (Bloo does know morse code, and that's something I don't even know). Second, he's a very mischievous, self-centered thing. He does think about himself a lot, which at times can make him such a more interesting character, though he can be a bit annoying. However, there's that other side of Bloo....the softer side. The little guy does have a heart. Even though he doesn't show it very often, he does care about his friends, especially Mac.

I thought I'd throw myself in here because I read all those posts. They summed up a lot of what I have to say, but I'll say it anyway.
Bloo is Mac's id. He's everything he wanted to be when he was little but was afraid to be. He's pushy, obnoxious, selfish, callous, naive, gullible, cocky, conceited, and the voice Mac never had. Yes, he's got a lot of negative qualities because everyone has those. That's what an id is, our inner child. Mac had to grow up too early, probably because of a complication with his father. Hence, Bloo came.
Bloo isn't evil, though he can be a jerk. He's callous. There's a difference. He doesn't understand all the time what he's doing. He hasn't been taught when to keep his mouth shut and that's probably what Mac wanted. He wanted someone who wasn't afraid to speak his mind since Mac was terrified to.
I can see Bloo annoying Herriman, though, simply because their personalities are juxtaposed. However, I can also see Bloo maturing as he grows older. Heck, he's five. He's got a lot of growing up to do.
As for the comment about him being the rare "jerk"on TV who's a main character, maybe it's about time. I know for a fact there are a lot of jerks in this world...and some of them are simply too naive to see themselves for what they are. I don't hate Bloo (in fact, I adore him), but I think he needs to learn his lesson sometimes. It's a part of life.

I luuuuuv little Bloo. The only time his attitude annoyed me was in "Camp Keep...", as we all know he acted over-the-top selfish. Other then that, he's the cutest most lovable thing, though not nearly as adorable as Mac. (Yes I will say that a lot. He's got to be the cutest cartoon eight year old ever.) I agree that he's everything Mac isn't or deep inside hopes to be, and that is SO reflected by the treatment he gets from Terrance. (Forgive me Sparky, but I LOATHE Terrance.) There was an episode were Bloo got Terrance to punch himself out, I was cheering. I don't understand why Bloo suggested, however, that Mac ask his bully brother to take on "New Guy", especially with the terms it came with...basically beating Mac up even more. Bloo, you would support Terrance BEATING MAC UP MORE? Sometimes, he gets me annoyed to no end. But I do love him! ~Ami~

"Lovably exasperating" is what I'd call him. Sometimes he makes me laugh out loud, sometimes I want to yell "Bloo, what is wrong with you!?!?" at him, and usually I end up doing both. Ya gotta love the little blob!

You sure do! I really want to get my hands on one of those plush Bloos..... ;D I can sometimes see Mac's personality reflected in Bloo, especially in "Partying is Such Sweet Soiree", which it seemed that Mac and Bloo completely flipped personalities. That's really interesting...they totally did! It's usually Mac who's trying to control Bloo

I got the plush Bloo several months ago. He stands about 8" tall and the color is almost exactly like on the show. His expression is fairly innocent, which means he's hiding something.
