If some game company decided to make a Video Game using the Foster's license, what do you all think would be the best way to bring the characters to the world of consoles and PC's.

I've pondered this some on my own. I'm really not a fan of bringing Foster's into video games. I think if a cartoon is very popular and has a lot of fans and has been going for a while, sure, why not? But Foster's has only been going for about eighteen or twenty months now and I don't think it's ready for a video game to be made out of it. Personally, I might get a bit annoyed if the producers agreed to make a video game using their license. Sure, there's a lot you can twist out of it, like getting stuck in the giant Foster's house, but I really think it might have a big effect, whether it be positive or negative, on the show. Remember the Fairly OddParents video game? That fad died out. I have a feeling it didn't sell very well, or might not have gotten good ratings. I just looked on Amazon and GameFly, but neither have any ratings, so I'm not completely sure. My brother got it when he was seven, and finished it within several days, maybe five? (Although I'm sure an older gamer could have finished it within maybe two days, but this is a seven year old I'm talking about ) The commercials for it weren't on for very long and, to tell the truth, it just made me dislike the show a little more.

I went for Adventure... dunno why. I mean, wandering around the House following Herriman's rules would be fine, dontcha think? Or getting rid of Terrence or something, that's an adventure, am I right?

1. There already is one
2. Video games based on TV shows/movies generally are boring and lame.
However, if I had to pick, instead of making it about Mac being a peasant wearing short pants, it would be.... yeah, I don't know. I mean, how would they translate the graphics to the world of video games? Anyways, I do believe there already is one, as I mentioned. I think you play as Bloo or something. I wasn't paying attention.

Well a game is only as good as it's designer, and yes I do know that the trend of taking a popular license and making a quick and shoddy video game based on it, has been going on since well, almost the invention of video games themselves. (There are some exceptions to that rule). So for the purposes of this thread, let's just assume that someone competent and has a lot of respect for the license is making the game in question.

Well, like I said in the edit of my post since I always seem to edit my posts for some reason, the graphics would be hard to translate to video game.... ness. Usually video game graphics are 3D-ish computer-generated stuff and that would look...... really weird. Also, the premise.... I mean, that one game that the Japanese folks made is where you play as Bloo.... in Foster's.... or something. But how much can you do with that? I mean, what would it be ABOUT? I just don't know! O:

Ahh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be rude about it, that was just out of bitterness for all the crappy games based on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory-type movies that only exist because the movie made a lot of money, and so on and so forth. I meant there is already a game, not a thread; except I'm not sure if it's been released yet although I think it's on Gameboy Advance [whatever version they're up to now at this very moment].

"Cell shading" can be used to easily replicate the unique look of the series... For an explanation of what I mean click on the link below. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cell_shading

I'm passionate about computer games (mostly older ones it has to be said) and I despise the direction that games tend to take nowadays - the industry has never had as much money and technology at its disposal, and it insists on churning out relentlessly soulless games... A proper game today costs as much time, money, and manpower as a high-class film - so in order to reclaim the budget and even consider making a profit, games have to be guarenteed to shift X number of units. So they can seldom afford to make big-budget projects something that's not (a) a sequel or (b) a tie-in of some description. For me that explains the poor quality of most tie-ins...they are seldom if ever made for a genuine love or interest in the subject material, or expanding upon it - it's a purely commercial move. Bring back the days when games-authoring was a labour of love, and controlled by people who wanted to have fun, as opposed to making money! I know I promised you guys a Foster's game, but I'm rarely at home now to spend time on it - it will happen though I am putting little bits and pieces together from time to time, I'll stick up a screenshot soon

I thought it would be cool if the game were something Mario-related. That would be nice.

I sort of envisioned a game where you interact with characters and your environment, with gameplay very similar to Konami's popular Japanese dating simulation RPG Tokimeki Memorial: Forever With You. Your character is Mac, naturally, and you hang out with Bloo and Co., do some volunteer work for Mr. Herriman, go out on "dates" with Frankie at locales outside of the Foster's mansion like coffee houses or hamburger stands, and play mini-games.
Ideas for Mini-Games:
Dance-Dance MacaDilly: A Dance-Off between Mac and Bloo (lots o' Button Mashing)
Bloo Bomba: A Tetris/Puyo Puyo-style puzzle game with Bloo-shaped blocks
Yie Ar Kung Bloo: 3 rounds of fighting between Mac and Bloo in martial arts garb
