I want PBL to be MY teacher. Wait, so girls in your class like Wilt, too? How are there that many?! MOST of the girls who watch the show really like Wilt, and a lot of the guys like him because he's into basketball, like them. The guys who really dislike him(and the girls, too)are more often than not members of the Crips gang, whose "colors" are blue, and they despise anything that's red, since that's the "colors" of the Bloods, their arch-rivals. Wilt's color by default makes him disliked by anyone who supports the Crips. The guy who was so quick to jump to the defense of the show is one of my brighter students, often an honor roll kid(which is rare in this school), and not normally that outspoken, but the other kid hit a nerve or something by dissin' Fosters, and things almost got ugly! One girl immediately got an attitude in advance for anybody who said anything bad about Wilt, even though no one had specifically dissed him, just the show, for the simple fact that it's animated. Interestingly enough, though, most of the guys who watch the show pic Bloo as their favorite character, while most of the girls pick Wilt. pitbulllady

ooooo.....a fosters war....now thats devotion XD......the way you described that it sounded like a classroom version of an uprising(sorta....except only with defending a show)....haha...The peoples stories on this forum never cease to amaze me........wait....you have a wilt sculpture?,a classroom also?.....(ot) TEACHER!!!.....ahem......*wipes suit off, adjusts tie* Yes, I'm a teacher, an Art teacher, specifically, and yes, I have a Wilt sculpture that I made myself from Super Sculpey oven-baked clay, since there's really nothing at all available commercially that features him. That means that us fans have to make our own. If you search way back in the Fanart section here, you should find a link to the sculpture. If not, I'll post it again for those who haven't seen it. PS-OK, I posted a link to the sculpture in the Fanart section, since I could not find a reference to it there. I don't recall if I posted it in there or not, but I know that there are many people here now that weren't members back when I made it, so I put it up again so they can view it. pitbulllady

I guess I'm nonconformist! *gets a head start before the hatchets can start flying* But wow, I didn't know kids could be such hoodlums. I mean, I did, but it's just weird to hear about. I wonder if any of the Crips kids suggested Bloo be their mascot.

I wonder if any of the Crips kids suggested Bloo be their mascot. I haven't heard it suggested, but they do like him. I HAVE heard them express that Stitch(from "Lilo and Stitch")was their sorta unofficial mascot, though, sadly. The Bloods picked Spongebob, of all characters, because he had a red necktie and eats "Crabby Patties", and a "Crab" is a derogatory term used by the Bloods when referring to a Crip, who in turn call the Bloods "Slobs". It's scary and sad that I've had to learn so much about gangs, isn't it, as part of my job, and I'm not even a law enforcement officer. pitbulllady

.....They picked Spongebob, a character with a best friend who's pink, a high-pitched giggle and eyelashes, to be their mascot? OF ALL CARTOON CHARACTERS?
But yeah, I respect you immensely for being a teacher, even without the hoodlum kids.

I want PBL to be MY teacher. I'd say that too, but I'm Homeschooled, and I do not care to disrespect my beloved mother. ^^ Heh, while making dinner just a few moments ago, Mom said "Hmm, looks like we're out of carrots." I jumped up and shut the refridgerator door, and stood in front of it, arms stretched wide. "Oh, er, uh...I guess you'll just have to make something else!" Mom: "What?" Me: "Hehehe." Sorry for the OTness of that, I just felt I should mention it. ^^

My main friends-my social group-all like Fosters because I introduced people to it, and I still tell people who have Cartoon Network to watch it whenever I can. My friends ended up liking it so much, we sat in front of the telly all day watching a Foster's marathon?
Also, is it sad that we went bowling, and for a couple of turns, we had to bowl like our favourite character? Mine is Mac, which resorted in me just throwing it. We had a Coco, who kicked it behind her, a Bloo who threw it, and an Eduardo who just pushed it lightly (and ended up getting a strike)

No Wilt who rolled it along his shoulders, then slam-dunked it right through the FLOOR? pitbulllady

A responce with my own brand of censorship!
I sadly, CAN'T be caught watching cartoons in my own house. When we did have Cable, and Dad would catch me watching Ed Edd 'n Eddy, Lilo 'n Stitch, Invader Zim; or something similiar the [chocolate] would hit the [air filter]. He would be very verbal about me being (at the time) 21 years old, watching kids [chocolate]. Go on and on saying how I won't amount to anything if I spend the day on my [donkey] watching [chocolate] which is made for kids.
So I had to ask my aunt who also had cable at the time to record EEnE. Sometimes I'd be lucky eough to catch it at my own house, be gleed to the show but then find out she DIDN'T record it. Taught me not to rely on anyone for anything when it comes to my cartoons.
But that's whats so great about the net. I can be listening to Fosters and Dad would pass by behind me and not know since I have another window open.
But yes. 'Just a kids show' really [wets] me off.

Where I live, it's rare to find ANY Foster's fans. Hopefully, in years (if Foster's last that long) there may be even more fans, where I live.

My grandmother hated cartoons for a really long time...that is until she got hooked on watching "Lilo and Stitch: The Series" at the age of 63!

I hate when I get dissed for watching Foster's! When we moved to my new house we got dish so I was like yippee I can finally watch foster's without it being fuzzy! (my friend had been recording them for me on an old video tape ) and if anyone owns DVR you know that when the show comes on it changes the channel and my mom would get angry about it switching when she was watching something and she blew up at me "You shouldn't be watching cartoons Kasey you're almost sixteen GROW UP!""Is that all you do is watch cartoons?!" and so on and on and on and on It get's very boring and depressing hearing her rant about how I'm "not my age" she just doesn't like foster's because she thinks the voices are annoying and I'm like wow patience lady you have none.... anyway I never say I like cartoons out in the public, I usually drop a line from foster's and see if anyone catches on.. like....OO! when cheese is sad about mac having to go home and I go AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW............. or say I like cereal...sometimes people catch on.... I think it's better we be watching cartoons like foster's and chalkzone and fairly odd parents than going around and I don't know getting high or in debt or something.... it just is depressing...

It amuses me that parents don't seem to realize that cartoons are MADE by grown-ups. Or perhaps they're just jealous that the cartoonists are likely having more fun in their lives than they are and making a good bit of money at it, too.
