Ah, the pairings thread. Honestly, there are only about three pairings that I can stand (two that I actually like and one that I can semi-stand). Those are Wilt X Frankie, Mac X Goo, and I can somewhat tolerate Mac X Bloo if it is done right and isn't too heavy on details. Although we more than likely won't see ANY of these pairings on the show, I still think that Mac X Goo becoming a couple is possible...but only in the future because it's obvious that Mac is too young to understand what 'true' or 'pure' love really is. He's only eight! Now, whether or not Goo has a crush on Mac is questionable (she makes eyes at him a couple of times in "Go, Goo, Go" and when she says "Are you holding my hand? Weirdo." She says it in an almost playful tone. So she definitely isn't disgusted about it.). So because of this 'slight' evidence, I'd say that they actually COULD get together in the future. While Mac doesn't seem to share the same feelings, it doesn't mean that his attitude can't change as he gets older. Frankie and Wilt...although they will more than likely never get together, I still find this pairing cute in fanfics. For one thing, Frankie really needs someone she can turn to and trust. Someone she can rely on no matter what. That person is Wilt. Just think about it-he's kind, thoughtful, and caring. These are qualities that many girls look for in a guy. But Frankie is also very caring, thoughtful, and despite the fact that she has a mean temper at times, deep down inside she is a very warm-hearted person. Because of this, I actually think that Wilt and Frankie COULD be a match for each other. The only problem is that I don't think either one of them realizes it or possibly even WANTS to become involved with the other. After all, you have to remember that Wilt is an IF and Frankie is human, so this could be holding Frankie back since I'm sure that she might worry about what her outside friends would think about her getting together with an IF. I don't really think that Wilt would care, though, because like I said once on ff.net forums, he seems to accept people no matter what or who they are. Now for Bloo and Mac. Now, we know that there's absolutely NO chance that they'll ever be a couple because for one thing it's a male x male pairing, but another thing is that, like PBL said at one point, this would technically be an incest pairing because Bloo is technically related to Mac. He created him after all. And besides, they're best friends and it's 100 percent evident that both of them like girls (Bloo: She's HOT! Mac: She's so awesome.) However, the reason this pairing appeals to me at times is because of the cuteness that is put into it in certain fanfics that I've read. I personally don't mind the cuddling and hugging in fics, but kissing and..urm...going all the way...is a bit too much to read. THAT'S the kind of stuff I don't like about this pairing. Show-wise, this pairing can be thrown out the window because it won't happen there, but it's always nice to read a cute, good Mac/Bloo fic on ff.net sometimes. Now for the pairings I don't like at all. For one thing, I don't like the Wilt/Ed pairing because not only does Wilt's personality, interests and behavior lead me to believe that he's hetero, but also, Eduardo is too child-like and innocent to even know what love is in the first place. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if he saw two people kissing and said 'yuck!' XD Thus, this pairing can be thrown out the window when it comes to seeing it in the show, pretty much because it'll never happen. However, it's not to say that I will always TOTALLY dislike the paring every time I read a fic with it. In fact, I actually read a fic with this pairing once just to see what it was like. I can't say that my opinion on this pairing changed too much when I read it, but I WILL admit that the fic WAS nicely done and was quite heartwarming and cute. Herriman and Frankie is another pairing that I don't like. For one thing, they can barely tolerate each other most of the time. I'd be VERY surprised if they even considered each other 'friends' most of the time, let alone 'lovers'. Frankie and Herriman constantly yell, bicker, and argue with each other for the most part, thus throwing this one out the window as well because we'll never see it in the show. Sure, Frankie has showed that she DOES show consideration towards Herriman at times (in 'Setting a President'), but consideration is a far cry from love. I might give this one a try sometime just to see what it's like, but I doubt my opinion on it will change for some reason. But this is just me, I don't really know about everyone else. I can understand why most people wouldn't like any of the pairings, though, because none have really been hinted at on the show (well, except for maybe Mac and Goo).

You argued all those points beautifully.

Well, thanks, you guys! I didn't think you'd like my post that much. I was just stating how I felt about each pairing. Oh, but I almost forgot! There are so many other characters from this show and I just realized that you could actually make OTHER pairings with them! I've yet to see a Madame Foster/Herriman, Wilt/Coco or Coco/Bloo fic out there! You think SOMEONE would write about those, or something.

Those are really weird pairings... 'cept for Madame x Heri, I've seen a few. >> << They were poorly written and Madame Foster was always WAY OOC... but I won't post a link, for respect of the author.
Anyway, YAY! ANOTHER MACXGOO SHIPPER! -loffs MacxGoo- And actually, I think Mac does have a *slight* crush on Goo, that's been burried with the taunts of school and how girls have cooooooooties and such. And not only that, but Mac might be a little hesitant about his feelings, due to Goo's behavior that is quite the opposite of his. It'd be a crazy-go-nuts couple fo' sho, but I really think it'd work out. And it'll be the classic story of two best friends in high school, and then Mac gets this super-hot girlfriend, and Goo gets jealous but doesn't say anything, so she gets a super-hot boyfriend, and Mac gets jealous, and they're both secretly jealous, and then they confess and... ah, there's nothing like the first kiss.

I've seen a Coco/Bloo fic. It was three (short) chapters long. Bloo invited Coco to the prom (?!) as friends...and they got married in the third. Talk about your fast courtships!

Yeah, which is why I don't really like reading the romance genre. I can't really get into it.

Yeah, I'm the same way. I love action/adventure stories, sci fi and even horror, but I just can't really get into the romances most of the time. I have no idea why, but I just can't.

I agree with you one Action/Adventure. It's my favorite because, if it's a well written story, a good plot is sure to be found. An angst can be well written, but there's no promise of the story really moving anywhere.

Although I usually like to read just about everything, romantic/angst is really my niche when it comes to writing. I'm a huge Mac/Goo supporter. And I'm in the process of writing a fanfic (although, they are a bit older...) I have a LONG detailed list of why on the Goo page in secondary characters... -Marty
