Oh, I didn't mean men were bad, I just meant I think romance just isn't Coco's thing. That I can live with.

Sexists. ;D Now, it's not like the man himself would hold her down... it'd be the commitment, the effort put into the relationship, the sacrifices... Yuck. Commitments. xD Anyway...

Okay well everyone by now should know I'd reply to this. So some probably want to know, why is labloogirl a MacxBloo fan? Well, I have to say, I didn't originally have any interest in "slash" fics, and quite frankly, I still don't. But for some reason, I've fallen completely in love with the thought of Mac and Bloo together. And is it so I can just write tons of horny pages with the two of them exploring various ways of having sex? No, and no. I have, in fact, refrained from any such activity in my work-in-progress fanfiction, except for kissing. It's very, very hard to explain WHY I love Mac/Bloo so much, other then one obvious reason...that they complete each other so well and you know what they say, opposites attract. Once the idea was in my head, and I explored that theory, it just took off. That being said....I'm not a huge fan of Wilt/Ed, and yet....after reading a very skilled fanfiction and seeing some of Fala's awesome artwork (yes I'm going to name people here) I found the idea kind of cute. I still have my resolves about it, but I'm being open-minded. I'm hoping I can find more fanfics (one of my favorite being one involving the two of them swimming at a lake) that are well-written, and more pictures, so I can see the cute fluffiness and perhaps learn to like it more. So....if you're not a Mac/Bloo fan, think about the reasons why. One person here said something to the effect of, "I can't see a blue blob kissing a brown-haired boy..." Yeah well....I can't see a 19 year old girl hanging out with some thirty year old guy...but that's just my opinion. I don't know those people and how they feel about each other. I can't say what's in their hearts and what the relationship is all about. It's so UNLIKELY that Mac and Bloo would ever end up in a relationship, and I sure as heck know that. But, it's just gives me that warm/fuzzy feeling, and I enjoy writing it so much that I have put more effort into this current fanfiction of mine then I ever have with any others. (Even putting all other projects aside.) I agree with I believe Fala and CG....slash doesn't mean sexual, either. My fanfiction is based purely on love (even if not likely in the show's aspects) and I'm a big hopeless romantic anyway. My favorite part of that love is seeing them just be friends. You know I squealed and my heart fluttered when I saw that episode "Cuckoo for Coco Cards", when Bloo gave Mac a kiss on the cheek. It was so sweet! Sure, it probably meant nothing (as I've read in other threads already) but in my mind it was like getting to see a bit of that fluffiness on screen. The episode "Squeeze the Day" was the BEST EVER to me, because it showed nothing but the close and sometimes maniacal friendship between those two. To me, true love starts on, and is fully supported by, two people being the best of friends first. This is how and why I can see these two together. And I think I just explained to myself why I like MacxBloo so much. ~Ami~

Labloogirl, I don't really understand the pairing, but I do know that you Mac/Bloo shippers are the luckiest ones around stories wise (azuretears comes to mind). I've said it before and I'll say it again, I sometimes wish I could get my head around the Mac/Bloo pairing enough to read some more of her fics. When you really look at it, I would probably be friends with any Mac/Bloo shippers I meet (as long as their not too ravenous in thier depiction of sex between the two) because, when it all comes down to it, we would both share a deep love for the friendship between Mac and Bloo. We just go in different directions from that point.

I used to argue with Kageri (I mean I was actually a bit mad at her! lol) but I just love her now. I consider her a friend (even if only online) and if you don't mind, I'd consider you a friend too. The world can never have to many of those. If you want, take a gander at "Love Unexpected" It could use some work, especially on the first chapters, as far as my writing talent goes. It's not easy to write a good story, and especially on a topic some people gawk at. But give it a shot. If you hate it, you don't have to keep reading it. ~Ami~

Thanks, labloogirl! Of course I don't mind if you consider me a friend! Afterall, I consider you a friend. I will read your story, because although I might not ever like the pairing, I still make a point of reading a few fics with pairings I don't like to make sure I'm staying open minded.

I am not exactly into pairings, but I have nothing personal against them either. If they are well-written and solid, I'll enjoy it for what it is. If it isn't, eh, I just move on.
There are only two pairings, out of ALL EXISTING FANDOMS, that I can truly say I support/"ship". One of them is Odo/Kira from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine...
...and the other is Frankie/Wilt from Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends.
Don't everybody thank me at once.
I'm already guilty as charged as one of "those" perpetrators of angsty/serious fanfiction(I'll come clean on this in the other thread soon), so if I may be blunt, I don't care about whatever vehement opposition comes at me for supporting a pairing that is unorthodox and will probably put off some, whether it be purists opposed to human/IF relationships, or Wilt fans who hate Frankie after "Squeeze the Day".
I'd like to repeat that I'm NOT a "shipper" in general... but there's just something about Wilt and Frankie being together that makes me smile.

Yep, I've had a sorta kinda epiphany so we're pals now and I'm not as fanatical and "HELLO HI THIS IS MY OPINION AND IF YOU DISAGREE YOU ARE WRONG" as I used to be about Mac/Bloo. But don't worry, I can still do that about other things. Like Tom Cruise. Anyways, one of the things I do like about the pairing is that it's "safe" - that is, I'd rather see Mac and/or Bloo with each other than with a made-up character who is Japanese and wears a schoolgirl uniform and everyone falls in love with her because she is so beautiful and mysterious and gets A's on all her tests.
I guess one of the reasons I like labloogirl and probably would like other Mac/Bloo fans (unless they get all preachy and tell me their opinion is right and -- oh.... oh, crap, wait....) is because we both love their friendship, too, because that's what they have to start with and even a romantic relationship can't work without friendship being involved. I'm always more interested in the friendship aspect of pairings than the romantic side anyways, because it's simply more interesting and endearing to me. Besides, alhough Squeeze the Day did a good job of satiating my "MAC N BLOO R BEIN BEST BUDZ!!" craving, I still hunger for more episodes where Mac gets to have fun and doesn't have to be a mini adult. Sigh.
Something also that can affect how much I like a pairing is when there is a whole lot of it and a lot of that whole lot is really bad. That has plagued the Foster's fandom and just about every other franchies out there that has a fanbase in the double digits. In fact, sometimes I think about writing Mac/Bloo to challenge myself and show people how I'd do it, but I know I never will. Oh well, once I get my rear in gear I'll do some more "LOOK GUYS I CAN'T DRAW WILT BUT HERE ARE MAC AND BLOO" fanart.
In conclusion, Pepsi Blue was really good and they shouldn't have just sold it for one summer. Also, I am now less of a hypocritical pairings Nazi.

Of all the pairings in Foster's, the only one I really support is Mac/Goo. I don't mind Frankie/Wilt, and there are genuinely some good fanfics out there about the pairing, but on the whole, I don't like the friend/human pairings, and I can't stand OC/character pairings.
Just my two cents.

You're, like, one of the biggest Frankie worshipers ever!!!! And, just to bum you out, the Wilt/Frankie pairing makes ME smile too. XD

Wilt/Frankie kind of makes me just scratch my head. I mean, it's one of those things where I'm not entirely sure what to think of it. Does it have a sufficient amount of awesomesauce? Is it just weird? I do not know!

I'm not overly fond of pairings, especially since the first fanfic I ever read was a particularly nasty Mac/Bloo. That was a time when I didn't know what Mac/Bloo meant. (Yes, I'm naive.) But I have nothing against people who support the idea of pairings. Actually, Mac/Bloo isn't too bad because they do complete each other. I guess pairings are all right if they don't end up like that first fanfic I read. I still have nightmares...

Yeah, about Wilt/Frankie. I think I already mentioned my weirdo hang up when it comes to human/friend relationships. I just can't get over the whole "not the same species" thing. I mean, it's obvious that they're not animals. Personality-wise they're completely human. But, well...heh, I just can't get past it.
