This episode premieres on Friday. Discuss this episode here. By looking at the title, it seems interesting.

Erm...There's a rule against starting a thread with a post like that, isn't there?

Erm...There's a rule against starting a thread with a post like that, isn't there? I looked at the ToS and it said that if it just says "Discuss" then it is breaking the rules. I gave an opinion of what the episode might be so I don't think I an necessary breaking the ToS. I could be wrong though...

He at least gave information on when the ep is premiering! I think that's fine. I myself have no opinion on this ep yet, so I have nothing to say and will not post here again until I do.

I saw the two (or three) minute premiere for it. I'm pretty excited to see it. =)
edit: Wanted to bump this up.
By the way, the episode will be showing throughout the night as well, so if you miss the first one, don't worry =)

Uhm, I just saw this, and I have to say.....it sucked, I hated it.
First, the good things. I did ADORE Wilt in his scenes, just cause it was neat seeing him in a pirate's outfit and acting...he is so wonderful to watch. Plus I loved his singing. ^_^
Coco was so funny I wanted to hug her! Her death scene had me cracking up! ^_^
But what was the point of this episode? You know what I learned from it?
1) Bloo seems to love to boss Mac around, make him feel guilty (in a very mean way), and has no concern for things like who he hurts or how he could potentially be ruining Mac's life. 2) He thinks he knows everything. (Which he clearly doesn't.) 3) He uses people to his advantage, emphasizing his already known selfishness.
I swear, I GET the d**ned fact already that Bloo is selfish, vain, etc. Do we have to rub this in, over and over again, in EVERY FREAKING EPISODE??
Can we have ONE episode of some heart? An ending that does something other then just end the episode, leaving all emotions in the dust and not bothering to have anyone relent or say sorry? (And Mac doesn't count, he didn't owe Bloo one blasted apology. I CAN'T BELIEVE MAC CALLED HIMESLF A JERK TO BLOO!)
The way Mac is manipulated by Bloo time and time again makes me wonder...
just what kind of so-called friend is Bloo?
He's not.
I think Mac should give him up for adoption, who needs someone like that in their life? I'll just stick to my own ideas and write fanfictions that imagine Bloo a little differently. I'm very disappointed and quite frankly, I think the writers are running out of any decent ideas.
Edit: Of course, again, Bloo is only five. But it's almost like he mocks his creator every chance he gets. The way he looked at Mac's original video, said it was boring, and hurt Mac's feelings was pretty darn mean-spirited.

Uh, if a character is mean and selfish, they WILL be that way. Usually they won't change their personality a lot. And frankly, he won't change, so you better just deal with it. And Bloo just is that way. Manipulative, selfish, rude. I think he likes teasing Mac and manipulating him because he can. And Mac puts up with it because he's a pretty tolerant kid, which I think is a good thing that Bloo has Mac, because, just imagine how many kids he'd have adopting him, and taking him back to Foster's because he's just too rude and manipulative? Imagine if Mac was like Bloo, as well. They wouldn't get along well, if at all.
I'm sorry, but I don't think you understand this. Try thinking things over before making a long rant.
Mac is a laid back, tolerable, submissive kid. He tolerates Bloo. Of course, he doesn't have to, but he does. And Bloo is pretty outgoing, rude, selfish and dominant. They'll always be that way, and that's why Mac puts up with him. And apparently, Mac wasn't all that hurt by Bloo's so-called 'constructive' critisism about his video.

I loved the episode, really. I loved the countless spoofs of so many genres, so many movies, so many directors, not to mention Lauren Faust as the "Dora the Explorer" spoof! I've accepted the fact that Bloo is a self-centered, egomaniacal, manipulative jerk, but at least he CAN make a darned funny movie! Yeah, he uses people and bosses others around, but no worse than he did in "Cookie Dough". He knew what it would take to make an Oscar-quality film, which is usually either going to star some big-name Hollywood star, or is going to be utterly strange. Look at "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon"(which got spoofed BIG TIME in Bloo's movie).
At first, I admit, the episode was getting too strange for me, with too many fart jokes, but then they managed to work that, and Eduardo's fear that HE was the one making those noises, into that hilarious "Lauren Gone Explorin" little kiddie show, while at the same time, showing the elaboration that Bloo was going to in order to make that movie. They also poked fun of how real Hollywood movies ALWAYS wind up WAAAY over budget, and the lengths to which producers(who in this case, was Mac)will go to to get that money.
The best part, though, was that this movie did have the best-looking, sexiest action hero I've seen in a long, long time...and he can sing, too! And NO, I am NOT referring to Tom Hanks! Who needs Brad or Matthew when you've got WILT!?

Idril this wasn't an argument to offend anyone. And I have a right to my opinions, as do you. Don't go telling me what I need to do or just "deal with it". I think YOU need to think too before you go and start judging people or telling them what you think they need to do. I understand Bloo's personality..but it upsets me because it's like he doesn't like Mac at all, just teases him, dominates him, and uses him. That's a friend? You're right, Mac is tolerant. Tolerant almost to a fault. Most people WOULD be disgusted and look for far better friends then someone like Bloo. Like Wilt.
Pitbullady, I couldn't agree with you more on your last paragraph! Wilt was SO cute and fun to watch in this ep. ^_^ He makes a great actor! ^_^

This isn't an arguement. Simply a friendly debate. But I don't see a point in complaining if you know he's not going to change. But Mac doesn't look for a better friend, so oh well. But, apparently, you don't understand Bloo's personality, otherwise you wouldn't be ranting about it. And I wasn't judging you at all. I was simply trying to make you understand something. Unfortunately, I wanted to see in the credits to see if Craig McCracken actually did his own voice, but the credits got all...small On another note, this episode was awesome. =D

rant
I thought this episode was hilarious; the Craig and Lauren cameos were pluses and I love inside jokes (well, they're not really inside jokes.... but.... never mind). The fart jokes, amazingly, were done in an almost tasteful way, and didn't approach what other cartoons have copped out on by employing instead of high humor.
The rant part:
As far as I know, sensitivity can go and whistle. I don't think Mac is as fragile as some people say he is, and although Bloo was undisputedly mean in this ep, he's funny, and that's all I really need. Mac is a pretty resilient kid, and it's not right for Bloo to treat the child who thought him into existence so badly; but -- and don't flame me on this, please, we all know it-- Bloo is stupid, and Mac definitely has a lot more power over him (putting him up for adoption, not showing up at Foster's, etc.). So if you'd like, you can write a fanfic where Bloo gets abused. Actually, I don't recommend that. I read one of those and it was disturbing. There was a point to this rant, but it has temporarily escaped this member's mind.
.....
Oh yes. Anyway, I do think that there should someday be an episode of Foster's where Bloo is nice to Mac; at this rate, they don't even look like they're actually friends. But I'm digging the fact that the main character of this cartoon isn't always generous and kind and always folds his napkin in his lap and says please and thank you and everything is just peaches and cream. I don't know, I'm weird. But I agree that I hope Foster's doesn't lean to the other extreme. Hopefully Bloo will redeem himself in the near future.

Pitbullady, I couldn't agree with you more on your last paragraph! Wilt was SO cute and fun to watch in this ep. ^_^ He makes a great actor! ^_^ Yeah, I really did not expect Wilt to have much acting skills, after that debacle in "Hiccy Burp", but he honestly DID show far greater skills than that expensive, big-name actor with the bucket over his head! He didn't "over-act", either. That whole James Bond-esque scene with Wilt, the tricked-out ride, and the flying Ninjas was the best, though how he got those long legs of his in that sports car is beyond me...must have been some real Hollywood special effects there! I love the way the camera kept zooming in on that trademark Wilt smile, too, though Coco's "death scene" in which she disarms the bomb(notice how she was careful not to touch the green wire-in EVERY movie or tv show in which somebody has to disarm a bomb, they are always careful to cut ONLY the red wire, and NEVER to touch the green one) was hilarious! This episode reminded me of the old "Police Squad" movies and tv show-anyone else remember those? You have to watch it again and again to catch all the references, in-jokes and spoofs. Still, with Wilt in it as much as he was, and really stealing the show, who's complaining? And, is it just me, or did anyone recall hearing him apologize in this episode? I don't think he said, "sorry", not even once! pitbulllady

I will state again, Idril, that I DO understand Bloo's personality. You apparently aren't reading my posts, just resigning to your own opinions and are clearly baised in what you think. That's really fine with me, whatever.
Kageri, I agree with you in some ways.....though I certainly don't expect Bloo to be all "peaches and cream", he can maybe just SLIGHTLY be a little more kind to Mac. It makes no sense that in the pilot he was so sad, trying to help Mac out, wanting a HUG from him....all so later on, in eps like these, he can act like he doesn't care, use Mac to his every selfish desire, and act like he's plain bored with him or enjoys making fun of him.
The difference between the charm and heart what was in the 1st season vs. this season is just shocking, at least to a devoted fan like me whose watched every ep.

And that, is character evolution. (insert retro sound effects here) His voice has gotten higher as well. Hmm.

The difference between the charm and heart what was in the 1st season vs. this season is just shocking, at least to a devoted fan like me whose watched every ep. I noticed that too. It's slightly perturbing; but I have a new theory: Bloo grows backwards. Check out his first few lines in "Dinner is Swerved" -- his voice is way lower than it is now! DUDE! And now he's getting more immature. This supports my explanation: Bloo is going through backwards puberty (scientific name: "jerkius voicecrackius") On the pilot episode thing: I've noticed that Bloo changes completely when he is backed into a corner. In this episode, he took advantage of Mac because he could. In the pilot, he was faced with the serious dilemma of being separated from him forever, which might be why he was so much less controlling in "House of Bloos". Okay, I totally made that up, but it kind of makes sense to me.
