Ahh, I remember that now. It doesn't seem like it hurt him, though (he seemed pretty happy to have gotten on Wilt's nerves, like it's a significant life achievement to tick him off to that degree). I think he just enjoys antagonizing people. Maybe making Wilt mad makes him feel accomplished. I mean, Frankie's easy, you just empty all the cheese dust from a Doritos bag onto the laundry she just ironed. But pissing off Wilt, who is nice all the time, is like would-mount-his-anger-on-your-wall-if-it-were-tangible material.

Yeah, if I were a annoying person(Don't...Even...Say it.) and wanted to feel accomplished, I guess making Wilt mad would do it.
Oh, and hey, I got to see the clip! *happiness* I now love the colo-bix website, or whatever it's called. They have the clip up for downloading on their site. The only thing is, that it took 20 minutes on my evil internet to load the little 40-second thing. I checked to see how long it would take to download the pilot, and guess what? THREE AND A HALF DAYS. So I now know I'm not going to be able to watch any of the episodes on my computer.

But pissing off Wilt, who is nice all the time, is like would-mount-his-anger-on-your-wall-if-it-were-tangible material. What I want to know is...just WHY is Bloo like that? Why does he feel the need to antagonize people at every chance he gets and actually feels great when he gets people ticked off? I mean, think about it....(this is just for a fun debate), since Bloo was made to be the friend of a lonely (we assume) 3-yr old......Mac that is, who has bullied by his brother Terrence his whole life.....why would Bloo be somewhat like a bully and bother others? I can't really agree with the fact that he is Mac's "opposite", cause I in no way can see Mac doing those things. Nor do I feel Bloo is showing what Mac harbours deep inside...with the exception of wanting to maybe gather enough courage to punch his brother out (and I wish Mac would), I can't see the little guy being capable of being a bully deep inside. (Like Bloo can be when he wants to be.) Also I bet Bloo was created as a sort of comfort for Mac, too.....not the literal security blanket thing but the figurative one. Of course we don't really know why Mac created Bloo, but one can sort of figure it out with what we've seen go on at home. What I'm trying to say is, Bloo doesn't make sense for his design and purpose. Perhaps he feels "incomplete"? Is Bloo lacking self-esteem (by pretending he has loads of it) and trying to gain more attention, even if in negative ways? Hmm.....it all makes me wonder.

What I'm trying to say is, Bloo doesn't make sense for his design and purpose. Perhaps he feels "incomplete"? Is Bloo lacking self-esteem (by pretending he has loads of it) and trying to gain more attention, even if in negative ways? I doubt he's that complex; he's an egotistical jerk because egotistical jerks are funny, and that's it -- or at least, that's what I think. The thing is, we're probably mostly making stuff up when we think about why the characters are the way they are because I don't think the writers would put that much complexity into them. I think Bloo has a nicer side that is very very very very buried down deep inside him but I don't think there are many different facets to his personality. I don't think he's insecure, per se; I believe he really thinks he is as great as he thinks he is simply because he is not terribly bright. I think he likes Mac, and cares about him, but always has to be better than.... well, pretty much everyone, and in my opinion this just roots from his egotistical....ness....ian....ality.... rather than any feelings of inferiority. Bloo is a puzzling character (you're right.... he doesn't make much sense for what he was made to be), but I think it's true, what you said about IFs' personalities taking different directions than their creators intended. Maybe not that drastically, but I guess what I'm trying to say is.... maybe Bloo just turned out to be an arse. I mean, with all the imaginary friends created in the world, there's gotta be some duds, right? (Burn!) I do however agree that Mac probably created him as a figurative security blanket.

Well said, Kageri. Except for the "egotistical....ness...ian.....ality..."part.
XD
Of course, that DOES imitate Bloo, doesn't it? I LOVE how he tries to invent his own vocabulary. Such as in the episode Hiccy Burp, where he insisted he was going to make his hiccups less "stealable".
Well, at least I don't THINK that's a word. o.0l

Hey, thanks! Yeah! My debating skills are getting more refined! *struts*
Seriously though, I hope Bloo wasn't like that when Mac was 3. Because..... dude.
Then again, maybe it made Mac more anti-bullying-susceptible-to-lacking-of-self-esteem..... from..... getting-used-to-bullying-of....
....I'm gonna go... over there.

Well, I think that maybe Bloo only became a jerk to Mac after he started living at Foster's. At home, I guess he had to sort of protect Mac from Terrence, so they could've been REAL good buddies. Maybe the reason he treats Mac like he does is to make himself look better. I had a friend once who was nice to me and fun when we were alone(such as sleepovers), but when we were out in public(such as Homeschool-set-up things), she's treat me almost like crap(I think she had some self-confidence issues or something). I'd never say anything, 'cause I'm not all that bold and she's two years older than me. We stopped being friends somewhere near the start of Spring last year(wow, it's been a year already?).
So, anyway...*ehem* Yeah. I'm probably wrong(and people can debate this subject 'til the end of time), but that's what I think.

Well I saw the last ten minutes so I'll have to watch this ep again at 10pm. I loved the ending though, sweet! OMG, guess what, Bloo said "I'M SORRY" to someone, for all you people who think he's not capable of saying such things. So there!! XD And yeah he went and got obsessed with a new collector's item (I LOVED how the Wilt one was the rarest! Yes!) but you could tell he DID mean what he said to Coco! That's the part about Bloo I love the most, his sweet side. ^_^ Edit: And I have to add, I think this is the main aim of the writers, they are going to show how being a jerk all the time isn't going to get you anywhere and/or could cause you to lose friends, so as the show goes on, I'm hoping, to some extent at least, that Bloo gets a little nicer again.

OK...just watched it! Pretty darn funny, though I can't say I liked it as much as "Room With a Feud". I will try not to give away too many spoilers, knowing that some of you haven't seen it yet, but I think this really established just how much of a jerk Bloo can really be, even though he DID swallow his pride at the end, when this fact was actually pointed out to him. We also learn the names of several of the incidental characters that we see a lot in the background; for instance, that big green slimy guy is called "George Mucous"(get it?)! Probably the funniest running joke, though-much funnier than Bloo's antics-involve Eduardo trying to improve his "stats", which, in the first series of Coco Collectible Cards, was "Big Cry-Baby". This is totally unacceptible to Ed, so throughout the whole episode, he undertakes braver and braver tasks, progressing from "Big Cry-Baby" to "Chicken" to "Scaredy-Cat" to "Big, Crazy Idiot"!
Fortunately, the collectable card craze plays itself out...to be replaced by "Bobble-Bodies"-yes, that's right-the heads stay still while the bodies shimmy and shake! Man, I would KILL to get my hands on the rarest and most valuable of them all-the WILT "Bobble-Body"!
