Most of 'em will be really happy to swap collectible toys for a bag of potato chips from the vending machines across the hall from my classroom. By school rules, students are only allowed to get stuff from the machines during their lunch period, unless they have special verifiable permission from a staff member or other adult. They consider it a big deal to be allowed to go to the machines during or in between class periods, and will pretty much do ANYTHING to earn that privilege-like bring the teacher a nice Wilt toy! pitbulllady Heh heh heh, shrewd.

Aw. I can just imagine a little Bloo-boo toy (he hee that's my pet name for him XD) and of course, the ever lovable No.1. Sweeet. When I want any toy from BK, I just buy a kids meal, I don't care...I'll eat the food. Heck, I can go to BK for nine weeks at one meal per week there....that's not too bad and shouldn't pack on any real pounds. ::grins::

Alright, a guy just posted on the IMDb forum some more information about the collectibles. He says he works for Burger King, and the information sounds legit, though I have asked him for his source, and as soon as he provides it, I will pass it along. For now, it seems, though, that there will NOT be a Frankie or Mac or Madame Foster toy, which really seems rather odd to me. What they WILL have is TWO different kinds of toys for some characters, like Wilt and Coco. There is also good news that there will be more non-BK Foster's merchandise this summer, such as t-shirts, video games, and the DVD, and of course, my much-anticipated "Good Wilt Hunting" late this fall. Apparently, Cartoon Network is REALLY going to start promoting Foster's, and it's about time, if you ask me. Here is the info I copied from the IMDb post below:
“Create a Face Wilt,” “Create a Face Eduardo,” “Create a Face Coco,” “Mix N Match Coco,” “Mix N Match Wilt” and “Mix N Match Herriman.” “Wind-N-Wobble Blooregard,” “Eye Watch Eduardo” and “Fancy Feet Herriman,”
"CARTOON Network is building a foundation for Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, beginning with a Burger King Kids Meal. "This really is going to be Foster's year," said Phyllis Ehrlich, svp-promotions marketing.
In late April, BK will offer nine Foster's character premiums with its Kids Meals. Toys include a Wind-N-Wobble Blooregard, Create A Face Wilt, Eye Watch Eduardo and Mix N Match Coco. The toys tie in to a "Gallery of Imagination" on CartoonNetwork.com, where kids can choose images to construct their own imaginary friends. Creations will be posted on a co-branded CN/BK site, and several will air on 15-second ads on the cable net's Fridays block on May 5 and May 12.
The online component was created to complement the BK deal. "It's not only a great show, it's about great imagination," Ehrlich said. "Burger King's desire was to bring this to life."
BK will promote with 30-second spots by Campbell Mithun, Minneapolis. Foster's chronicles the adventures of a boy, Mac, and his alter ego/creation, Bloo, who goes to live at a house with other kids' imaginary friends.
Foster's begins a new run of episodes in May and the net will expand consumer products this fall with the first Foster's DVD release, a Nintendo Game Boy Advance title and T-shirts from licensee Logotel. Mac and Bloo will host the net's summer packaging, and a one-hour movie is in development for late '06. "

Oh man I am HATING living in Australia now!! For one, Burger King is Hungry Jack's here. And Fosters is literally unKNOWN here. Only to those fortunate enough to have Foxtel or Optus. So sadly, I highly doubt they are to bring these guys down under ANY time soon.
I weep.

Merchandising, Merchandising, that's where the real money from the show is made. Foster's the T-Shirt, Foster's the video game, Foster's the breakfast cereal, Foster's the flame thrower... The Kids love this one.
(Ahem, sorry "Spaceballs" reference.)
