Yeah, the Wilt designs... was he meant to miss one leg?! Craig was showing the different designs for Wilt that he'd thought up, before settling on the one we know and love. Yes, I do believe that he meant for Wilt to have at least ONE missing body part from the start, though it took some messing around with sketches to come up with the right idea of WHICH body parts should be missing, and from the sketches with the bandages and crutches, it's pretty obvious that Wilt's missing body parts were always supposed to be the result of injuries, not how he was imagined by his creator. At the same time, though, every one of those sketches show him with a smile on his face, even the one where he's missing and arm AND a leg, and has to crawl around like a sort of crab or spider, so the one other thing that Craig apparently always had in mind for this character was that indominatable spirit of good cheer and optimism. pitbulllady

You see....The interesting thing I find about those sketches is what is made up before a final choice is made in what the character will look like,or rather playing around with various ideas from the previous sketch...The possibilities of creating something so amazing are endless, thats what I find interesting in art;you may never know what you will end up with, and sometimes you end up with an extremely tall red imaginary friend named Wilt, and is it me or would Wilt seem a little strange with everything perfect on him?....just a thought....I wonder how other sketches of characters went........I will patiently await more of these pictures that continue to make my imagination, and mind run wild......It also makes me wanna pick up a pencil and draw.... =D....heh heh.............

No, it's not just you; we are all so accustomed to seeing Wilt as he is, that it actually DOES seem odd to see him with everthing intact. When I was making that fanart piece of him, "Days of Glory", in which I show him reminiscing on a time when he still had both arms and both eyes, it felt strange drawing him that way. Even my students, who watched me create this pic, from paper sketches to the final result, commented that Wilt "didn't look right" in the top portion, and then they figured out WHY-he still had both arms and both eyes. It's funny how his personality really does overshadow those handicaps(I hate that word but couldn't think of anything else)at first. I first became aware of him before I started watching the series, through fanart on Deviant Art, and I'd actually seen several pics before I realized that he was missing an arm and had that "wonky" eye! At first I thought that was just a touch added by the artist, so I had to go back and look at all the others I'd seen, and discovered that this was indeed what he looked like, so I had to start watching it to find out WHY. pitbulllady

Ed's design didn't go through nearly as many changes, or different versions, as Wilt's did. It really gave me a laugh(and THAT takes a LOT on Monday morning at 6:30 am)to think of Eduardo getting a tattoo, when I'd imagined it would take an act of Congress and the whole crew from "Wild Kingdom" just to give him a flu shot!

Eduardo gets a flu shot. Now that could be a really funny episode! Yeah, it sure would! Since IFs can get the same cold virus as humans, it would make sense that they would be just as succeptible to influenza and other nasties. It would make sense that the health department would be just as concerned about vaccinating the residents of Foster's Home, as they would a human orphanage or retirement community, too, since if Imaginary Friends can catch human diseases, that means WE can catch stuff from THEM. I can picture a "Flu Shot Day" at Foster's, with Bloo boasting about how he's not scared of no shots, then passing out when he get one, and Wilt being his usual stoic selfand being an asthmatic, he'd BETTER get a flu shot)...and then Ed. OH, boy, what a time they'd have with HIM! pitbulllady

Eduardo with a tattoo. Would you even be able to SEE it above his fur? Hah. Makes methink of a Garfield comic, Jon comments on how the fat cat's fur keeps hi warm and Garfield comments how it helps cover up his coiled snake tattoo.
Luckily for me I have good friends who send me the images (this website refuses to work for me at ALL) and Eduardo seemed to come almost straight away, unlike Wilt who went through many changes. I like seeing the progression of character designs, it intrigues me.

They updated the blog with a fanmade Cheese plushie. He's so cute! I wonder if they'll put the two Wilt plushies too, those are great.
