Yes, our local weatherman on the "Live At Five" news broadcast just said that a few minutes ago, in reference to a high pressure air mass over that part of the country that is filtering in hot air towards us! He said it with the exact same inflection that Bloo used, and there is absolutely no doubt that he was impersonating Bloo and got that line from "Squeeze The Day"! You could hear some giggling and snickering off-camera when he said, too, so apparently he isn't the only Foster's fan on the evening news! I think it's great that this little Flash-animated series is touching so many lives in so many ways.

Hahahaha!! That's hilarious! Wow, your weather people seem pretty cool, pitbulllady. The weather people at our local news channel are pretty nice, but most of the news reporters try too hard to be cool and funny and just...aren't. Well, that quote is pretty much one of the biggest ones on Foster's so I guess it was going to happen sometime! XD It's still great, though.

At our church cookout this evening, following that news broadcast, our preacher(who is 26, and a HUGE fan of Foster's and animation in general, and is an animator/cartoonist himself-now how cool is THAT?)came in joking with me about it. He'd seen the same news broadcast! Everyone was looking at us like we were crazy, so we got a pretty big kick out of their reactions, too!

PBL, why must you live in the coolest town ever??? It makes me so jealous... Let me guess, your garbage man is actually Craig McCraken, isn't he? LOL, no, I don't even live in a town, per se. I am WAAAY out in what most people would refer to as "the Sticks", aka "The Boonies", or "BFNowhere". I attend a small country church, Ashland United Methodist, and our preacher is a new guy right out of seminary. For most of our members, who are much older than me, he took some getting used to-he wears a goatee and has an earring and wears shorts and flip-flops to our Wednesday evening Bible study-but he has made a pretty good impression on the older crowd here nontheless. He often uses references to animated shows or characters in his sermons, even if he always knows I'm probably the only person in the pews who will know what he's talking about! He was actually attending an Art college, with the intention of eventually getting into CalArts and becoming an animator for a major studio like CN or Disney, when he got the "Calling" to become a minister. I didn't even know he was a Foster's fan until he said something to me not long ago about the Wilt figurine on my dashboard, and he actually knew who that was, and then this evening he came in and asked me if I'd seen the evening news, and we both starting grinning like lunatics and going, "It's HOT in TOE-PEE-KAH" around the food table at the post-Fourth-of-July cookout, while others around were going, "What? Topeka? Who's from Topeka?" It's nice to be able to have these little conversations with someone, and only a handful "get it"-like being part of an elite club or something! pitbulllady

*cough* I live a few miles east of Topeka XDD It was REEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAALLY HOT when I first saw Sqeeze the Day, so I laughed to myself. My dad was reading the paper, and he caught the news man's saying "It's hot in Topeka..." and thought I was watching the weather. He laughed, too, as I continued the episode. XD
