So who else here reads comics or manga, and what are your favorites?

I read V for Vendetta a few years ago, and read X-Med comics as long as my friend has some to lend to me. I never could get ahold of much manga, though. Except for the Legend of Zelda mangas I read online.

I read manga, but I'm just not all that interested in comics. The ones I'm currently interested in are Ouran High School Host Club, Girl Got Game, MagicalxMiracle (<-That one is new.) and Fruits Basket. I know-shoujo manga. Just leave me alone!!

I'm addicted to comics and manga! Haha. My favorite comics are Squee, Calvin and Hobbes, and a little far side here and there. I used to love Garfield, but it's just too repetative now. They keep over-using the same jokes, so I've scooted it off to the "no thanks" pile. The Simpsons comics are cool too, but they're actually kind of hard to find around here. And what else is there? Right, manga... um, I enjoy Chobits a lot. So yes, Skittlemonkey, I'm also into Shoujo... don't feel too bad. XD The other Shoujo-ish ones that I like are Cardcaptors, Magical Girl Pretty Sammy (the title's a mouthful), Azu Manga Daioh, and what else? Oh right, sailor moon. Total sailor moon junkie here. XD The non-shoujo-girly ones I like are Case Closed and the Pokemon manga... it was one made by Toshihiro Ono? Lah lah lah... *rambles*

You know, it's so funny, but I've never read the Chobits or Azumanga Daioh mangas, but I've seen both of the anime series. Azumanga Daioh is crazy in every way possible. >o<

Oh man, I can't believe I totally forgot Squee! I love anything Jhonen Vasquez, even the BAC, oddly enough. I wish he'd continue JtHM, but after ten years, I kind of doubt it.......

I keep hearing people praising the manga for the depth and complexity that couldn't translate into the Anime, but honestly they don't look too different. With Azumanga Daioh, I thought they did such a great job of turning a plotless manga into an anime... It's still plotless, but still amusing. Kind of like napoleon dynamite?

I absolutely love comics, but I just can't get into the popular stuff (say superheroes, manga and such). I don't really know why, I guess I'm just nerdy (I DO like Milligan/Allred's X-Statix, though). I love comic strips (Calvin and Hobbes is a freaking masterpiece, and I also truthfully enjoy Zits, The Far Side, Peanuts and such), anything made by Jhonen Vasquez, Chris Ware, Craig Thompson, Daniel Clowes, Paul Dini and Peter Bagge, plus I read a lot of Spanish material (Albert Monteys, Manel Fontdevila, JoaquĆn Cera). Jeff Smith's Bone is absolutely fantastic too, and the Futurama comics are also truthfully entertaining (especially the ones written by the show's staff writer Patric M. Verrone).

I don't buy a million manga volumes when I go to the bookstore anymore, but I do like Ranma 1/2, Tenchi Muyo, uhhh Ouran High School Host Club and Sgt. Keroro. The main thing that bothers me about a lot of manga is the fact that often every single male character could easily pass for a girl, which rarely happens in real life, and the fandom for these types of mnanga terrify me.

Hmm... I'm not into the whole comic thing...but I do like manga very much! My all-time fave is Ranma 1/2, but I also like InuYasha, Marmalade Boy, and Maison Ikkoku. (The last two mangas are already finished, so I have every volume of them ) LoL Kageri! The main thing that bothers me about a lot of manga is the fact that often every single male character could easily pass for a girl. Hahahahaha Ranma especially, right?

I don't read comics but I do read manga. I haven't read that many, but I particularly like Fruits Basket, Fushigi Yugi and .hack. And I have quite a few odd manga (like the first volume in the series and that't it.)

I read Calvin and Hobbes, and some of the other ones in my newspaper are funny, but Calvin and Hobbes is still my favorite. Well, doomtoons are also good...I don't read mangas, but my friends do.

(*blushes*) I'm kind of obsessed with Peanuts. (*glances at penname/username*) Guess where the "lucy" part comes from? Yep, Lucy Van Pelt!!! I've got a fairly long fanfiction in the works for it, too!!! -Marty
