I don't know if the thread has been started yet, but after seeing the "Duchess of Wails" episode, I have to wonder about Mac's next door neighbors.....are they Mormons, or are they just so high on life that they can take anything that Duchess is capable of dishing out in the moaning, groaning, and complaining department? It would've been funny if they decided to invite Duchess back for Christmas and sing "Pine Combs and Holly Berries" to her until her ears bleed.
edit by Sparky: The official character discussion threads are not for fanfic involving original characters. I have also retitled this thread.

I doubt they're mormons, because I'm one, and I wouldn't be caught dead in their sweaters I just doubt they would be, they're more like Flander's on the simpsons. And if they are they're "molly mormons" which most of us aren't. Personally, if I met duchess and she said that to me, I'd be just like everyone else on Foster's, completely loathing her. I'd just say high on life.

they're more like Flander's on the simpsons. This is EXACTLY what I thought when I first saw them! ;D

Yeah since there's no "proof" that they're Mormons, its okay to think that they might be but its innappropriate to *officially* call them "Mac's Mormon Neighbors" so I am altering the title of this thread. Just to be fair to the show, if you know what I mean. I just think the current thread title is to conjectural. I'm going to retitle the thread "The Applebees" to avoid confusion. Also, while I know the General Character section is for groups of characters, I sorta consider the Applebees as a single entity so unless there's any objections I shall leave them in this section.

I didn't catch their names. I just thought that they seemed like the typical South Park-esque Mormon stereotypes. I apologize.

If no one's said this, but my town has this restruant called "Applebee's", which was fully operational before this episode in which they appeared aired. So I think their last name is a spoof of that restruant. XD

Well Applebee's is a chain, we have them here too. They've been around a good long time. I suppose its possible that the family's name is a reference to it, but then it may not be - Applebee is a real surname after all. Or they may be named after a real family known by someone who worked on the episode. Things can come from all kinds of sources. The family's little Corgi puppy in that same episode was modeled after a dog belonging to one of the storyboard artist's former boss, for example

Said storyboard artist personally requested screencaps of the dog, so you can find those on my site.
