Right. There isn't a single character on Foster's that doesn't cause some sort of divide amongst the fans. Not even Wilt.

Yup, that's true! XD But that's the fun of it-if we ALL liked the same character, then there really wouldn't be much to talk about or discuss without us all pretty much saying the same thing! XD

-clears throat- I REALLY do think that Goo has proven her point as a main human now. She's QUITE the regular. My vote? Move this thread! XD Seriously, though. How many episodes in a row is this? She's probably in it as much as the Madame herself! =D Even though everyone's bashing her and saying how useless and annoying she is... I still like her, you know. The writers may be milking her, but she has a great character design and a nice outlook. Maybe a bit "Superhero," but you know, it's still Goo. She's still that misunderstood little crazy who needs someone. And by need, I mean *need.* She doesn't have imaginary friends anymore, and she has all this potential, yes. Yes, the writers are abusing this potential a bit, but still. It's there, is it not? It's not cool just to go about bashing Goo the character instead of bashing how she's being used.

I'm just upset what happened to goo. is she NOT imagining friends anymore or did she change her mind? I mean cmmon, one episode she's like I'll never imagine another friend again, and the next she makes like 50 herrimans, and a new Mac and Bloo. Still, I don't think she's annoying, I quite like her character. besides, we would've missed out on some great scenes without her. I haven't seen Big Cheese yet, maybe that episode will change my mind.

I think you got us (me anyways) all wrong. I didn't mind Goo when she first appeared, because I figured that she would be a one shot character (and a very good one at that). But to me, the way she is being used is inherent to her likability as a character. In my mind (and I know there are MANY that disagree with me) a character is only as much as the writers make of him or her. For example, Bloo is not a nice guy being made a jerk by the writers (which is a rational for Bloo's actions I've seen repeatedly). He is a jerk because the writers made him one. A character is whatever the writers make him or her. The same goes for Goo. If she is being made annoying (again, this is in reference to my personal feelings) by the writers than she is annoying. So, if I should post, "Goo has been annoying me more and more recently." I am not bashing Goo alone and not the writers. Because Goo is the writers. Does that make any sense? I doubt it... Also, I hope I didn't hurt your feelings by saying I don't like Goo, but I don't think I'm bashing her either. It's not as if I want her dipped into a vat of boiling tomato soup.

I see what you mean by the characters being the writer, but if Bloo were to suddenly be all nice and sweet and innocent, truly and purely innocent and sweet and nice and completely OOC, you'd still love Bloo, just not in that episode, right? It wasn't BLOO that did that, it was the writers.
I like to think that when a character is created, they dwell unused in this alternate dimension with their original purpose and personality still intact, only to be swept out of that dimension in haste at times... yeah, okay, weird. >>

I do it all the time, unless I catch myself. And your point about Bloo is exactly right. If Bloo were suddenly to act completely sweet, in a genuine way, I wouldn't like it. If he returned to normal the next episode, I would. The same holds true for Goo. I enjoyed Goo's presence in Bus The Two Of Us because she provided for several funny gags and was a lot less talkative than usual. If they can make Goo like that in more episodes, I'll have no problem with her. But, sufice to say, the road for her character seems to be going down a different path.

I don't think Goo is useless - and yeah she annoys me a bit but that in itself doesn't bother me. I would just like to see a little less of her. And yeah I'll be moving this thread, don't worry.

Is Goo really human? While some would impress that she could bring a ray of sunshine into people's lives, she has quite the opposite effect on Mac, Frankie, and Mr. Herriman, in that they want to feed her to an imaginary Rancor in the sub-basement of the house, if they had one. You'd have to wonder.....what on Earth keeps her going? If she has boundless energy 24/7/365........

an imaginary Rancor in the sub-basement of the house Okay I am NOT a Star Wars nerd (though my ex-best friend is which is why I know anything about it at all), but that made me laugh. Thanks. (Though I think that big thing that lived in the pit in the desert would be funnier.) edit: Again, I don't mean to offend Goo fans, I just found the image funny.

She kind of....dare I say it...ruins the show for me. I mean, I LOVE Foster's more than life itself, but if Goo wasn't on the show it would be so much better.

Granted, Goo's been on the show alot lately. She's been in EVERY ONE of the last four episodes, like John Belushi as "The Thing That Wouldn't Leave" (a reference for those who remember the old Saturday Night Live shows from the 1970s). I'll bet Mr. Herriman deeply regrets having invited her back to Foster's during Group Photo Day.

Well, I think we're all split, including myself. I think Goo is incredibly too annoying for her own good. But I can't help loving her, because she's like a clone of myself as a child (okay, emotionally and creatively). I have a feeling that Goo is the type of person who hides in her creations; for all you RENT fans out there (assuming there are any), recall Mark and Roger's argument during "Goodbye Love". That makes me wonder... If an extreme situation happened, would Goo be forced to grow up? I know I did when a similar situation happened to me. I'm exploring this in a fanfic of mine, but I'm getting off topic. So, what do you people think? Is Goo the type of person who would basically crack in a situation like I described (y'know, someone in her circle of family or friends getting terminally ill), or would she try to hide any feeling she had? In her debut episode, Goo explained to Mac why she made all of the imaginary friends. Notice how upset she got when Mac yelled at her? Imagine how upset she'd be in a similar but different situation. And I'm feeling incredibly redundant at the moment. (*Marty has a PPG flashback from when she was young...*) Mojo Jojo: "I AM NOT REDUNDANT! I DO NOT REPEAT MYSELF! (*Marty is back to the present*) Ha, couldn't resist that... But does anyone think that there must be more to Goo then what we see? And is anyone as ferocious of a Mac/Goo supporter as I am??? -Marty
