As usual I agree with CG -- crying because she has no friends doesn't make her a deep character, it makes her a character who is annoying even to OTHER characters. She's just an out-of-place addition to the Foster's Five who adds nothing to the show that it needs or doesn't already have.

Thank you. I hope Craig McCracken (sp?) sees that we don't like her and...oh, I don't know...kills her off or something. Or something.

I doubt it. They have another episode based all around her coming up in two episodes.
I'll be checking on you guys and your reports on that, if there're ANY good moments of Eduardo or Wilt I'll still download it but just skip Goo. That little pest.

Oh come on it's not "that bad", it's not like the other characters are constantly saying "Where's Goo?" every time she's not on screen.

don Jaime (who's a smart, smart man) remarked in the Big Cheese thread that Goo has turned into a Mary Sue-like character who tends to show up and solve everyone's problems. That's exactly how I feel. I mean she comes in and she's got her own theme song you know, and as soon as she steps on screen she changes the feel of the whole show - maybe not a lot, but always at least just a little. It's JUST too much, and I've really had it. I'll say it before and I'll say it again: I'm really glad that Mac has a human friend his own age. But geez! Enough is enough! She doesn't have to be in EVERY episode, does she?? I used to like her but I have this tendancy to lose my respect for something if it's thrust in my face over and over, and that's exactly what has happened with Goo. It's like "Look, look, it's Goo! She's wacky! She wears rainbows! She has LOTS and LOTS of imagination! Oh boy what crazy thing will happen now?" And we *know* what's going to happen, she's going to solve everyone's problems, all to her own theme song. BLOO doesn't have his own theme song!! Goo's kind of like the new hire who sweeps in and gets promoted above the people who have been with the company for years and years. I feel like the characters who have been with the show since the beginning are getting shafted.
I'm not trying to offend people who like Goo (and I certainly hope a *lot* of people like her, for what the writers have invested in her), I'm just saying that I think they're milking her far too much.

You know, I hate to admit this, but I can actually say that I agree with most of you that are saying that Goo is being overused. Now, as for people that say that she isn't a deep character, sure, she definitely ISN'T now that she has been overused, milked to a great extent and only expresses her crazy side. And you're right, kageri-crying because she doesn't have any friends doesn't make her a deep character. But the different KINDS of emotions she expresses does, though. Well, in my opinion, Goo started off as a bit of a complex character in "Go, Goo, Go". She didn't have many friends because people didn't understand her. Yes, she is definitely weird and yes, she is different, but now that I think about it, I think there's a reason for it. She wasn't just weird and crazy like I had originally thought on first glance, she was happy, sad, lonely, friendly, and very flamboyant, in my opinion and it's obvious that she likes to help people (for example, at the end where she helped to get the friends adopted and how she fixed Mac's backpack). If she didn't have any depth AT ALL, then she'd just be weird and freaky and nothing else (like she is NOW, pretty much! XD) and would be totally useless. Everyone just thought that she was a crazy weirdo when deep down she was simply misunderstood. In that episode, Mac and the others DID end up realizing that she is really a good friend to have around once they got to know her. She's fun, colorful and I'm sure that she would prove to be a good friend that can be relied on if given the chance. She was also quite useful because she helped get many friends adopted at the end of that episode. So sure, she may seem weird and annoying to people, but that's because most people didn't understand her strange personality. Sure, she spurted out random friends constantly, but just remember that there WAS a reason for it (she was lonely and desperately wanted someone to confide in). So perhaps her mind got so used to creating so many imaginary friends that it got out of hand, therefore making her act the way she did. I know that when I am constantly trying to do something, I can get a bit jittery and hyper whenever it gets out of hand or I get too stressed out. Although I'm not sure if Goo acts jittery because she's nervous or stressed or not, but I know I get that way sometimes. But another thing I just thought about is that maybe she is trying TOO HARD to fit in with others. Maybe she is jittery because she is anxious to fit in and REALLY wants to have friends or just someone to talk to and be with.
However, now I must admit that I think she ISN'T very deep anymore and that's because they have overused her character and milked her so much that she is starting to become 'stale', so to speak. They have only brought out the weird part of her and the effect of that is that she now only seems like a one-sided character. Sure, she is still proving that she is useful in each episode, but it's taking away from her depth because they aren't bringing out her character like they did in "Go Goo Go". I must admit that I don't really like the direction her character is going since seeing "The Big Cheese". She just seems like she's out of place now because she is being overused instead of further developed. I just hope that there is a way to redeem her character because it would be a shame to see a character such as Goo lose her originality and creativity. She has too much potential just to let her end up like that.

Umm...no. I'm just saying that because I liked her and it's a shame that she's being overused and milked. You misunderstood what I meant. I wasn't SAYING that I don't like to agree with anyone, but I was saying that I hate to admit it because it's just a shame that her character is going downhill like that. Do you see what I'm saying here? Eh, I guess I should've worded it better...I have that kind of trouble sometimes, after all.

It was depressing to read the past page and a half. I like Goo, and would love to see her in future episodes. True, she doesn't need to be in every one, but come on! I think it's nice to have another main-character girl, it's starting to balance out more. Plus, I think she's funny. On occasion, I act the way she does because I hyperness is good...Sometimes... Oh well. Belief influences persective, so I guess if you believe she's annoying and Mary-Sue-ish, then that's how you'll see her. If you're like me and you believe she's a great character to have on the show, then that's how you'll see her. Whatever.
