Ick, you don't really think Bloo would kill it...um...at least not on purpose.

That's the big snag in the whole concept. Bloo would be the mom, too. He reproduces by dividing, like an amoeba. And all the divides and redivides have the same personality. Scary. Of all the actual possibilities that Bloo could reproduce, that really is the only one I think could be valid. In my mind, however, I don't think he could reproduce in any form, due to the fact that Mac would've had no understanding of the concept of reproduction in any form.

That's my belief as well. We had some thread a while back that eventually got onto the topic of reproduction where IFs were concerned. I just don't think that a kid could imagine their friend with those capabilities without having some sort of understanding themselves.

Exactly. I wonder how Ed would reproduce? He IS an IF, but he's also a beastly / animal type of IF. Mabe it would go about like with any other IF, but then, would IF's reproduce the same way like all humans do? What I mean is, would ALL IF's reproduce ALL the same, like humans, or would some IF's have a different way of doing that?

I doubt that any IFs can reproduce because, as stated above, their creators wouldn't have had any concept of the idea of reproduction. Thus, since they wouldn't have had any concept of reproduction, they probably wouldn't have made it possible for the IFs to reproduce.

Bloo goes to the bathroom, does he not? And in the Land of Fleas, Eduardo certainly KNOWS it's not "good" to be walking around pantless.

Yeah, but IFs can go to the bathroom, right? Bloo goes to the bathroom, does he not? Well, Bloo eats (a lot?) and I guess he needs a way to relieve himself.

Well, this is sort of where we got to last time: t's possible that some IFs have the capabilities to have sex, but just can't reproduce offspring (which I don't even know if I agree with...).
When it all comes down to it, the whole premise is never going to be addressed on Foster's for obvious reasons. So I guess people can believe whatever they want.

True, but kids understand the purpose of using the bathroom; it's something even a little kid at the age of two or three would know, from which we can assume most kids first create their imaginary friends (again, just my assumption since it's stated Mac created Bloo when he was three). However, while they understand the importance of eating and using the restroom, thus creating a simple biology for their friends that matches their own (or what they understand of it), they do not understand or comprehend the purpose or ability of reproduction in any form and, thus, this is left out for them. And even though Eduardo knows it's not right to be walking around pantsless, and no offense to your point, it was a good point, but that doesn't necessarily mean he has the exact physiology of a human. Again, most two or three year olds know their parents would scold them for going around pantsless, and thus, this knowledge is passed on down to their creation. That's my opinion, at least.

I believe that since the IF's having the parts to go to the bathroom, their creators have the parts to go to the bathroom, they ALL have the parts to reproduce, weather the kid knows about the act or not. It's like making a mixture of something THINKING you KNOW all the ingredients to it, BUT little do you know, there's more to it then what you actually thought. Example, Mac created Bloo, I'm sure he didin't plan on making Bloo a selfish little jerk. But he turned out that way regardless and Mac was only 3 years old and he had created a monster, lol! But seriously, that's just what I believe.

I'm not arguing that they have they parts (in some cases, I believe they probably do), and yes, because of that, they probably could engage in the act that leads to reproduction after eventually figuring it out. However, the child did not have an understanding of the process when they created the IF, so while they can hypothetically engage in the act (or, at least, some possibly could), I doubt they could reproduce just because they child wouldn't have thought to add that to the IF. And actually, I DO think Mac intended for Bloo to come out the way he did, but that's another thread entirely.
