I think not having his father around has a lot to do with why Terrence is the way he is. I don't know if dad abandoned his wife and kids or died, but either event could explain a lot about what goes on in Terrence's mind, and in the way he and Mac interact.

Just some screencaps I spliced together for all the Terrence fans out there. This is from "House Of Bloo's":

*OT* Talking about screenshots, does anyone have that sole one from "The Trouble With Scribbles" when we see Wilt's feet?

I think Terrence is okay. He's not as bad as Vicky on FOP. Terrence doesn't make Mac do his chores, so, YAY!! Ya, I say yay a lot. I think Terrence has a real tough time with classmates at school, so, he takes out his anger on his brother. Maybe, I don't have very good opions on why Terrence is the way he it. -_-

I wanna know: Why the mullet. Why, why, oh why.
I bet if you touched his head your hand would come away with a pound of grease on.
And why does he dress like a stereotypical lesbian?

I killed both the mullet *and* his wardrobe in my second fanfic. And I happen to be straight (more or less anyways!) and I dressed like him when I was in high school. It was kind of "the look" in the late 80's though, for guys and "tough" girls. I liked it because it helped minimise my huge butt. ;D

I still dress like that, although I tuck in the shirt. I like it because it's comfortable and doesn't attract any attention, a sort of "suburban camouflage".

Hey by the way, Grand High Idol/delete-lover started a Terrence forum over on fanfiction.net. (I expect it to get trolled a lot though as it is public. )

Will take a look at it then.
Btw I'm planning a one-shot in which Mac creates Bloo, and my opinion about how did Terrence become like this.
I still feel sorry for him after what Mom said in the pilot (Yes, I know he's stupid...).

That could be interesting, looking at Mac's early years. Are you having him create Bloo before or after his father's departure?
