I have an opinion. I'm not interested in extream filthy language. Well, for the sake of others, some would be ok, EXEPT for the Lord's name in vein AND the F word! Every thing else is ok I guess. It would be nice though to feel free to discuss that episode with the cencor bars and, well me and pitbulllady had a discussion on IMDB boards about Wilt's humungus basketball sneaker and....stuff like that. Between fangirl to fangirl. I guess the topic came up when somebody mentioned the cencor bars. But It wasin't what I would consider that a really DIRTY topic, just more mature, like I said, between fangirl to fangirl.
I guess my point is, I would like to see were you could discuss more mature topics. Well, defenatly not a topic rated R or even X! Because you know there's Wilt fangirl's out there who wanna say just a little more than "I love Wilt! He's so cute!!!!" and stuff like that. Hey fangirls, wouldin't it be nice to talk about Wilt's HUGE basketball sneaker, if you know what i'm sayin'?. Or, Hey everybody! Wouldin't it be nice to discuss the adult humor of the show that goes over kids heads? It would be nice.

I haven't read this thread for a while so I don't recall if this was already explained: but as it turns out adult topics are not allowed on Proboards at all. So until we move off of Proboards (hopefully in August) we CANNOT have adult topics on here, period. After we relocate, then this topic can be brought up again. When I started this thread I did not know that it was against Proboards TOS to discuss adult topics on their servers.

Well hmm. I'd probably be way too young for such a board, but I'm all for it. Since most of the members here are generally mature, I don't see how this could go wrong. If someone steps out of line even for an adult topic, then they could always tone it down a bit and do what they've been told. It's never really seemed to be a problem before, so why not?

How will Proboards know if you break its TOS? They'd know if someone told them. Would you like to risk this ENTIRE forum being deleted permenently just because some people want to discuss adult topics?

Of course not.
I just figured that if we all agreed to keep it a secret, then there'd be no harm done right? But there's always the party pooper, or in this case, even the underaged users who aren't ready to be exposed to that sort of thing, which pretty much eliminates the possibility of an adult environment in the future. Some if not most of the people here are 13 year olds wanting to talk about foster's not about how... well, we'll save it for the adult conversations, shall we. xP
Feh, anyway, I was just curious as to how proboards would know if we all DID agree to keep it a secret, which of course, won't happen.

BTW I voted "It doesn't matter to me on the poll because, er, it doesn't matter to me. Go figure.

To be honest, Proboards isn't really good enough to even *have* a section only for specific members I mean, you can do it for Staff, as you know, and you can have stuff accessible to members only (like the Chat Room area), but that's it. You can't create a usergroup called (like what I was going to call it) "Older and Wiser" and make a forum subsection only accessible to that usergroup. I *thought* that you could when I first proposed this idea, but I was mistaken. So it really couldn't be done effectively at all.
I *have* seen this sort of thing done on other people's vBulletin boards, so if we end up deciding to do it after we move, we ought to be able to.

Then lets make all older and wiser members Staff! xP lol Nah, I see where you're coming from and how we'd have to wait until the new board, but like I said, even then we'd get complaints from the younger users.

On a huge forum I'm on, he-man.org, they tried making an "adult" section and it ended up crashing and burning and getting people in trouble and they ended up taking it down. I do envision that happening to us, so in truth I may decide against it entirely.

lol He-Man (funny name =P) But yeah, I can totally see how something like that would "crash and burn" as you so eloquently put it.

I think we can live without an adult section, although I would support the creation of one. It would be an interesting experiment, if nothing else.

Having an adult section is fine with me,as long as people act civilized.

Yeah, the "civilized" part is what I'm worried about. Some topics can be explosive.

I really don't think that would be a problem. People around here have been obedient of the rules and generally set a good example... and like I said, if someone stepped out of line then it wouldn't take much for the mods to tell them to knock that sort of crap off.

I personally don't really think the forum needs it, but if everyone behaves and the topics don't become too extreme then I wouldn't say no to it either. I'm not sure how much I'd use it though.
