If they were, I'd like to think that I'd be playing chess right now with either Eduardo or Mr. Herriman. That would be awesome!

Mabe Imaginary Friends are spiritually real, like ghosts? I have no idea. YES, IT WOULD CHANGE MY LIFE FOREVER IF IMAGINARY F'S WERE PHYSICALY REAL!!!!!!
screams with exitement*AHHHHHHHHH YEAH!!!*.
When it comes to the question"Are Imaginary Friends real?", I personally believe there IS something there. They might as well be real, if you love them, and if you already don't have any real/human friends, then why can't you're IF's be real?

I believe imaginary friends are real. I have four imaginary friends who to me are real. I see them because I want to see them, I hear them because I want to hear them, they're real to me and that's all that should matter. The only reason people say they don't believe imaginary friends are real is because they don't have enough of an imagination to create one, or they're just non-believers. To me imaginary friends are real. Imaginary friends are supposed to be visible and audible and feelable to only the person who created it. Just because others can't see it doesn't make it unreal. 3rd person perspective does not prove anything when it comes to imaginary friends. But of coarse that's just my opinion. And to get back on the spirit thing, I have a skelanimal plushie that to me moves and eats and sleeps. Others don't see it but I do. I put a spirit in it from my imagination. Only I see him move and eat and sleep.

It is perhaps worth pointing out that all the people who in their time "believed" that the Earth was flat never succeeded in unrounding the world by so much as an inch. "Real to me" and "real" are not the same thing.
They're called "Imaginary" friends for a reason.

I'm thinking mabe when I get my own house one day, I could run a house for IF's like Madame Foster. I know I sound crazy, but so is Madame Foster, like Mac said. I wounder though how I would do it. I've thought about it many times, over and over how I could get the lost IF's attention. I had an idea, mabe I could imagine a sign that says" We Adopt Imaginary Friends" or something. I don't think society would allow me to put up a real sign, plus I'd get acused for being THE Foster's place, news people'd be after me along with mental officials trying to take me out of my home against my will. Sure it wouldin't be Madame F's IF's home, it would be mine, but still...Do you think society would care if an innocent crazy girl opens her home to things they consider "not real"? I probably sound crazy and stupid don't I? I'd never tell anyone else but you people, I'm normal in all my other behavior, nobody's complained about me before in my family. And I'm not imature, I'm just.....an oddball, like Madame F. And it was not Foster's that got me interested in this subject anyway, before seeing this show, I've had my IF way over 11 years, still keeping him and planning to. You'd never know how good it feels to find somebody who believes in them too. I thought I was the only one.

Don't worry you're not alone on the IF thing or the dream of opening a house for imaginary friends. Lots of people from around the fosters fans society have the same dreams. I have dreams.(which I really don't want to discuss) If you are a good friend to me, then maybe I will tell you personally.

I don't think imaginary friends are 'real' by definition, but it doesn't mean that the person that imagined one can't believe in them. If you have a belief in an imaginary friend then they become real to you, they just don't physically exist. Kind of like what a lot have people have already said, I guess. As for your dream tonya, I'll just like to say that if you ever did set up your own home for imaginary friends I'd love to come and visit.

I'm pretty sure they aren't real, that's why they're called IMAGINARY friends.

As you can see, I moved this topic to the "General Board". I think the content of this thread would be a better fit for this board. So feel free to continue this fascinating discussion at it's new home.
