If I have to choose: the natural, spontaneous humor. It's not like KND, in which there were some really good, funny episodes, but in the end it got like "Now, just press in another funny line...", and it got totally awful.

I agree with Fomalhaut. The thing I like about Fosters' humor is that it's not based on lame gags. The characters just *are* funny. Maybe that's why some people find FHFIF annoying because they think the characters talk too much, but IMO it's better when the characters themselves are funny. Besides, funny lines are a lot more quotable than "HAY DO YOU REMEMBER THE TIME THE GUY THREW DOG POO AT THE OTHER GUYS HEAD THAT WAS HALARIOUS! LOOL!"

It's hard to single one thing out. The writing is fantastic, the characters balanced, the animation does a good job with moving the story and adding details that make the picture come alive. It's a beautiful piece of art.
But if I had to choose one thing, I'd have to say the relationship between Mac and Bloo. They're cute, likable people who have care for each other more deeply than any other characters on TV today. They have their differences, and can be unfeeling at times, but they come together at the end.
I like the cute stuff.

Agreed, don Jaime. That's one of my favorite pieces as well. Also, I was really unclear when I wrote out the intro post to this thread. I actually intended to call it 'Favorite Aspect s of Foster's'. So don't feel like you need to pick just one thing. I mean, I don't think that's possible where Foster's is concerned.

I'll just take the wussy way out and say that I pretty much agree with what has been said here about what is so great about Foster's. (Great writing, superb acting, wonderful character's that are never overbearing or annoying, expressive animation.)
Because in all honesty the majority of the opinions that have been stated here, mirror that of my own feelings about the show.

Oh, dear. Like alot of others have said pretty much all the great things about FHFIF have been taken care of. But I might aswell say something. I remember when they first started showing teasers for the show I was super excited to hear that there was going to be a show about imaginary friends! I'm a Dr. Seuss "Oh the thinks you can think" kind of person, so this really was kind of the show I had been waiting for. When I watched House of Bloos for the first time I couldn't sit still, from being excited, but was still glued to the TV. After a long time of watching "Billy and Mandy" and "Invader Zim" I was really happy to finally have a show that didn't make me uncomfortable when other people where watching it with me. What I mean is, like others have said, there was very little gross out and stupid humor and more character driven humor. And almost every episode has some lesson in it, if not more than one. Oh, and there's the fact that Eduardo is a purple IF that speaks spanish and sounds like the cookie moster. You can't beat that in my book.

Like everybody said, the character-driven humor does it for me. I hate shows where the characters have no love for each other and the humor is just gross or tragic things that happen to them *cough*BillyandMandy*cough*. Not only are Foster's friends funny but they care about each other and have a lot of depth. And also, the show's made by the same guy who made Powerpuff Girls, my most recent previous cartoon obsession, so that helped.

Okay, trying my best to ignore all what's been said before so I can actually voice out why I love this show so much.
The characters have a lot to do with it - there seems to be a character for practically every taste. There's Wilt, the ever-optimistic pal you all had at some point that was never too busy to drop what they're doing and be there for you. Then there's Eduardo, a little kid who really pulls through for friends when the time calls for it. Coco's the little weird kid you couldn't help but be captivated by, cuz they tend to stand by just as great as those like Wilt and Eduardo. Bloo's out there for all of us to admire in a warped way, for being able to voice out just how he feels and not care what people think, or the consequences. Then there's sweet Mac, the 'normal' kid who deals with all these fabulously created friends and doesn't care that they're Imaginary.
It does also promote being more what is word, accepting? With people of different backgrounds. Wilt is an obviously disabled character, but only in looks. He's as happy as a lark and only once has he ever felt that his missing arm and visible scars were a problem (when he met Mac and Bloo, and he didn't want to make them feel uncomfortable). Teaches children to not be so 'iffy' around disabled people, be them adults or children. Eduardo could easily appeal to children who come from a different country, with his thick accent and eagerness to understand all what's around him. He's also very innocent; an aspect all children have at some point but sadly loose. . . given Eduardo's well over 20 years old and still held onto his childlike innocence is amazing. Coco. . . well, she's crazy! Something kids like, a little bit of an oddball thrown into the mess never goes astray. She's hilarious, but she can be foolhardily and teasing at different times. Like in Bloooooo!, when she preys upon Wilt and Ed's fears of the ghost just to get a laugh for herself; but when confronted with the real 'cannon ball ghost', she sides with them.
And Mac's the child who puts all of these differences aside, and finds true friendship amongst those three, along with the other residents of Foster's. I love Mac for that reason. He's an average child, something you do not come across in a lot of kids shows. They have to be secret superheroes, or have magic abilities, or anything. He's a normal eight-year-old child, growing up in a world where children are being forced by the world or parents to grow up fast. But he's refusing that, holding onto his true best friend, his imaginary friend Bloo. It's sweet and touching how he couldn't give Bloo up as easily as his Mum thought/hoped he would.
Plus the stories are fantastic. Their writers are so creative in thinking up adventures for this mix-matched band of buddies to have. From having Bloo become a caged celebrity, to Wilt's crazed journey via his inability to say 'no', taking card collecting to a quite obsessive level and even having your photo taken became fun.
The whole show is just so much fun to watch for me. The humour in the script writing, the visual cues, everything equals good viewing.

One thing I love about this show is all the spoofs it does.(which mostly only adults would get) Such as in The Big Lablooski they do a theme(a very bad theme mind you) of Chariots of Fire. And in Cuckoo for Coco Cards they name a lot of actors and baseball players on the cards. And in One False Movie they do a lot of spoofs of movies such as The Good the Bad and the Ugly, ET, Jurassic Park, and Back to the Future, Tom Hanks was even mentioned in that episode and so was Lauren is Explorin'(Dora the Explorer). Also in Partying is Such Sweet Soiree Bloo says "Do I have to fight for my right to party?" which is a song by The Beastie Boyz. I also love how the characters all have different personalities. Mac is the smart one, Bloo is the mischeivious one, Wilt is the nice one, Ed is the cowardly one(no offense) Coco is the crazy one, Frankie is the punk rock one, Mr.Herriman is the "ruley" one and Madame Foster is the crazy one as well as Coco. The show also has decent humor, not like some other shows on CN. The show has humor and a good story. There are also some things the characters do that I find very sweet.

I hated having to keep some episodes of IZ away from my Mom(Dark Harvest, the Halloween one, Gaz, Taster of Pork and Mortos Der Soulstealer, for example), 'cause she'd freak out. With Foster's, I make her sit down and watch every one I have on tape. XP She likes Foster's, but sometimes she's busy and I have to make her take a break to watch. ^^
