True. I like your philosophical way of looking at it ;D . It'll be fun discussing things here. Anyhow, here's a new angle: amnesia. What if he can't remember why he's like that or where he came from? Then describing himself as broken makes sense (I think ) I just thought that's a perspective I haven't seen Wilt looked at from. If you listen hard enough on the part when it switches to Coco laughing, Wilt's laugh reaches a high 'cracking point', for lack of a better term, sounding like he finds the situation very funny. I have World Wide Wabbit taped, so I watch and listen for things like that. I dunno-can't really picture Wilt being into the whole flower deal at all; that's Red's department! Wilt is more of a sports sorta guy. I guess the whole reasoning behind the sunflower thing is that they are also very tall...but you'd have to be rather careful mentioning anything like that around HIM, since you know how touchy he can be when it comes to his height! pitbulllady Ahem! My mom meditates and that's NOT a hippy thing! It's spiritual recollection! Y'know, relaxing. I can completely see Wilt just taking a moment to stop and recollect his nerves; no one stays calm without feeling like boiling over at one point or another. Wilt's touchy about his height? Since when? If he is, he's like an oppisite Edward Elric ;D WHERE in my original quote did I mention meditation being a "hippy thing"? Where, in fact, did I mention meditation at all? I just said that I can't really see Wilt being into flowers, anymore than most guys are. Red was the big fan of flowers. Wilt is more into sports and fitness, but I can see the association with him and sunflowers since sunflowers are also very tall. What, you haven't seen "Beat With a Schtick", or did you forget that part where Bloo is trying to hide in the pile of dirty laundry, and Wilt comes in and throws the pile of clothing into the washing machine(complete with Bloo)and starts it up, nearly drowning Bloo in the process? Anyway, after realizing his mistake(and of course, apologizing for it), Wilt finds out that Bloo is trying to hide from "the New Guy", who wants to beat him up. However, when Bloo reveals that the reason the New Guy wants to beat him up is because Bloo made a joke about the New Guy's height(he asked, "how's the weather up there?"), Wilt totally WENT OFF! Seems he is VERY sensitive about people making fun of his height, or ANY tall person's height, for that matter. He was completely sympathetic to the New Guy wanting to beat up Bloo, and felt that Bloo deserved it. Bloo just made the situation worse(and made Wilt even madder-and Wilt can go from like Mr. Nice Guy to borderline psycho in like .08 seconds if someone makes fun of his height-by saying, "I don't see what the big tall deal is" and "must have gone over your head", LOL! I was thinking, forget the New Guy, WILT is gonna pound Bloo into the floor himself; he was that mad! He also backhanded Bloo upside the head in "Eddie Monster", when Bloo started to say something about Eduardo not wanting to go back to Foster's, so Wilt can definately get an attitude when he needs one! pitbulllady

I usually associate 'flower power' with hippies, sorry... And no, I have not seen 'Beaten With a Schtick', but now I think I need to! I don't have cable or anything, so a place to DL the episodes online might be helpful... I can believe Wilt unloads sometimes; no one's always happy and cheerful and calm, esspecially around Bloo! I don't remember Wilt slapping Bloo in 'Eddie Monster' though...oh well, damned faulty memory

I don't know of any sites to download eps, though I'm sure they exist. You need to BEG somebody to put in cable, or better yet, a satallite dish system. And yeah, Wilt does backhand Bloo HARD in "Eddie Monster"-really sorta addled him for a few moments, and definately shut him up for a good while, anyway! It's in the scene in the junkyard, right after they show up to take Eduardo home, and he says something about not wanting to go back to Foster's, then Bloo nonchalantly starts up, "Well...." and that was a far as he could get, since that's when he got backhanded upside his head! Wilt then sorta finishes his sentence for him, "Well, now that THAT'S cleared up!" There was just enough hint of a threat in his voice that Bloo wisely decided not to say anything after that. I guess that Wilt knew that Eduardo's life was possibly in danger, and figured this was no time to be a push-over, but time to step in and take charge of the situation, something he's more likely to do when one of his friends is in a tight spot.

I've read Wilt fanfics, and really, many have him very OOC. And I don't seriously think he was abused by a girl or anything. And I think he doesn't want to get adopted because he's afraid to grow too affectionate to his new owner, and then saying goodbye will hurt him.

I don't think that Wilt was abused by his creator, or would even allow anyone to hurt him, if he could prevent it(and being able to chuck a 12-pound bowling ball through a hardwood floor, he's more than capable of defending himself). I think that his reluctance to be adopted, which manifests as him putting other IF's before himself, stems, as you say, more from a fear of being abandoned again. It's likely that whatever happened to him, occured after he was abandoned, so that would increase that anxiety.

Perhaps he WAS abused, and has learned from it 'Hey! I can't let people do this to me!'
Once again, just a guess. Wilt has a lot of strength for such a thin guy!

But even he can't bear Eduardo's weight... in Dinner is Swerved, he just jumps in his arms... ARM!

His strength must be an 'on-off' thing, like Spongebob. Ever notice how Spongebob strains to pick up a glass at one point, yet can hold on to a door while being pulled on by a thouroughly pissed off Sandy?

Well, I usually don't watch Spongebob... but you can be right.

About Wilt's owner: is it just a ff.net standard that his name was James? I'll have to put stuff about his owner in my fic soon, and won't use that name unless it's a true standard.

A lot of "fanon" stuff gets started over on ff.net, I've been responsible for some myself. (In other fandoms anyways.) Nothing has *ever* been said on the show about Wilt's, Coco's, or Ed's creators, ever. Not even the thing about Coco being imagined by a girl stranded on an island, that came from the CN website I believe, so you *can* consider it canon., though I myself tend to be skeptical of anything specifically *not* contained within the actual source material. I'm such a snob. The only exception to that I can think of offhand is the spelling of Terrence's name, as that has not yet been in the show (I'm kind of hoping we see it on a stocking, or a gift tag or something in A Lost Claus). However I've seen it on a set of official stickers and heard it from a crew member, so I'm satisfied.

No one has ever said anything on the show itself about the former owners/creators of the main IF characters, besides Bloo, of course. There is a fanfic in which Wilt was adopted by a kid named "James", who was NOT his creator(her name was Jodee in that fanfic). I haven't seen any indication on the show that Wilt has ever been adopted; in fact, he seems to avoid it like the plague!

Yeah, I know. That's how I try to make his character act like. Thanks!

His name in Hungary is "Boom". At first it made me freak out.
