Wait, what's it called if a GUY makes a character of themselves to be involved with their favorite character? I've seen them called "Gary Stus".

::reads last few posts:: Wow, this thread got a little silly, didn't it? Gary-Stu, also known as Cassini. I'll be looking for that on Wanted posters In any case, yes, Coco. There are precious few Foster's characters I'm not fond of, but I LOVE Coco. She's a close second on my list of favourites (Just underneath Wilt and Eduardo who are glued at the hip for first place). In addition to having a wickedly cool design, I'd imagined Coco would have an interesting story as well . . . We know from online sources that she was created by a child whose aeroplane crash-landed on a remote island. But afterward, when said child and Coco were finally found, the child began therapy. A prolonged period of solitude, the scorching hot sun and a diet consisting mainly of coconuts is not easy to undo . . . I believe Coco is an entirely different "species" if you will, of imaginary friend altogether. Most friends are created to be companions or guardians or helpers, but Coco came about as the result of the mindframe becoming warped by lack of human contact (instead of an "imaginary friend," we might classify her as a "hallucinatory friend.") This would explain her fickle relationship with reality and her limited vocabulary. Moving right along, these friends are not uncommon, but attempts by therapists and doctors to restore the mind to healthy, working order usually require terminating all "hallucinations" and this includes friends who fall under this classification. Thus, survivors are very rare. In Coco's case, I think one of the nurses saw reason; Coco was not a demonic figment that haunted a patient in an asylum, nor was she a diabolic accomplice to the criminally insane. She was a friend to a child in a harsh environment and probably the reason why said child survived at all. So one day, this sympathetic nurse takes a fading Coco and sneaks her out during one of the child's therapy sessions. She sends Coco to Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends where Coco restores her health and becomes a happy (and most unique) resident. He he, and I agree, it'd be totally nifty if she could fly. I was actually playing round with the idea of drawing futuristic, "upgraded" versions of the four main friends, featuring Coco with an expanded wingspan and rocket jets. (Eduardo would be armoured to the teeth in all sorts of portective weaponry, Bloo can change colours like a chameleon and bend and stretch to fit any shape, and Wilt would have a cyborg arm/eye, as well as robotic boosters fitted to his feet and ankles for extra speed). . . . . Buuuut, I'm utter bollocks at drawing anything remotely technical, so said picture has not happened yet -_- I did start drawing Coco, however, so maybe I'll just polish her off and be done with it ^_^

I keep reading this on almost message board I go to, but can anyone tell me original source where this background information originated from. Off course come November, Coco, Eduardo and Wilt's backstories will hopefully be fleshed out in a most canonical fashion, so it would be best to wait until then before anyone makes any bets.

I first read the bit about the island on either Wikipedia or on IMDB, if I recall correctly. . . . Then again my memory is about as solid as Gelatino

You know, when I looked at Coco for the first time, I thought of her as a butler. XD
