This is Bloo727's new forum on Proboards, and as it is specifically to discuss Cartoon Network programs it's more than ontopic to Foster's. If he's not gonna plug it I will! It looks very nice. CN City

I changed my forum to a general cartoons forum, so check it out. Just click on the link on the first post of the thread as the web address is still the same.

Ooooh...Sailor Moon, Invader Zim, Avatar, Pokemon, and Foster's...ALL IN ONE PLACE! *faints* I was talking about the banner. I'm sure that there's other cartoons in there too.
I'll think about joining.

The forum no longer exists, it was closed because of no activity.

Aw...that's sad...
Bloo727 should remake it and we should all join and rain some DOOM down upon it! Er, rain some, uh, ACTIVITY down upon it.

Aw...that's sad... Bloo727 should remake it and we should all join and rain some DOOM down upon it! Er, rain some, uh, ACTIVITY down upon it. He said that he lost interest in most cartoons and that was another reason. However, I think the fact that only one user wrote on the last days of the forum, was a bigger reason. I tried my own forum a few months ago and failed badly.

I find that it usually takes a previously existing gimmick to really get a forum going. E.g. Sparky's Screengrabs (although I don't know which cam first: the forum or the 'grabs).

I find that it usually takes a previously existing gimmick to really get a forum going. E.g. Sparky's Screengrabs (although I don't know which cam first: the forum or the 'grabs). The grabs were first, but not really by very long. I think the only reason this forum succeeded was because AT THE TIME the only Foster's-specific forums were like, tvtome/TV.com and imdb, and you know how immature people could be at those places (TV.com is *way* better now than it was then - if I tried making this forum *now* I doubt it would have attracted many members). It's all in two things: providing something in demand *when* its in demand, and a forum that fills a *specific* niche. When CN City first started it was for Cartoon Network, and Cartoon Network *only*, and I thought it was great. Then b727 got lazy (or desperate for activity maybe) and made it for *all* cartoons. In my opinion, it became sloppy and lost every shred of its focus. Why go there when one could go to a few *other* forums, focusing on one's favorite cartoons? You'd be more likely to find fans of specific shows to talk with. At least when it was just Cartoon Network, it was more focused. But maybe that's just my opinion. Now, my other Proboards forum is for Popeye, and we have...like 14 members. I mean, he's *Popeye*, he's The Sailor Man! He kicks ass all over the world and has since the 30's! But most of his fans tend to be older folks who don't use the Internet that much, that's the problem (his snail-mail fanclub base is huge). Not like Foster's fans at all. So there's that major difference. (We hope the forum will pick up when the complete Popeye theatrical collections hits DVD next year.)

I'd have to agree that I favors forums for a specific fandom over ones that are just for everything. I don't want to have to wade through threads about some cartoon I've never seen to get to the Foster's ones.

I'd have to agree that I favors forums for a specific fandom over ones that are just for everything. I don't want to have to wade through threads about some cartoon I've never seen to get to the Foster's ones. I will actually do that sometimes (because I'm obsessed like that). But even when I do find a Foster's thread, the fan fervor is lukewarm at most. You don't get the satisfying discussion without every member being a fan of one thing.
